Honestly my guess is he probably just missed coaching and when his dream job opened up he had to take it.

I love the hire and he was my #1 choice all along. #2 was Petersen from Boise and #3 was D'Antonio. But bringing that style of offense to the Big 10 isn't a bad idea. I still don't think it failed in Michigan. They put up some good points and they never really had a big time wide receiver or running back, their defense was just horrible. Something that wasn't a problem with Meyer at Florida. You pair Meyer with Braxton Miller, I think that's a big time recipe for success. And one final note, Meyer is great with special teams. The special teams were good this year but under Tressel they were awful so it will be nice to make some big special teams plays.

I can't think of a buckeye fan that is against this move, many were wanting it even before the whole scandal came out. Alot of us are mainly excited to finally get more of a spread offense, we've mostly stayed a power run game even though we have the personal better suited for the spread.

  3. I hate Meyer for obvious reasons but he's an amazing coach and will have OSU back in the NC picture in no time. It's good for college football for Michigan & OSU to be good...and it looks they will be with two stud coaches in Meyer & Hoke.

Michigan put up big points.... against high school teams.

Vs the Big 10 it didn't do nearly as well. Once the big bodies that can also run stacked up- it was over.

    And it never will.

  5. So you don't think Meyer's offense will work in the Big 10?

I don't like Meyer so it will be easy for me to root against him and Ohio State- doesn't really matter to me.

But it is hilarious how Douche doesn't think his offense can possibly succeed in the Big10 when Florida beat Ohio State (easily the best team in the Big10) running a spread offense in the BCS Championship game.

    ....

Here is a good article attacking Urban's character.

    Some of the highlites...

“If those things are true, and Meyer is ready to enter a rewarding new phase of life as a paternal bleacher creature, watching his three kids play sports, so be it. Wish him godspeed and good health. …

“But if Meyer suddenly shows up in Denver to coach Tebow, he’s a con man of the highest order. If he changes his mind and comes back to Florida before it hires someone else, he’s a diva even [Brett] Favre would disdain. If he takes another job a year from now, his family will know once and for all where it ranks in his personal hierarchy of needs."

" When the bottom fell out at Florida after Tebow and coordinators Charlie Strong and Dan Mullen left, the thought of selling a spoiled fan base on a protracted rebuilding process might have been enough to make a man ill.

So he bailed on Gator Nation at the first sign of professional struggle."

True. But Denard Robinson isn't Tim Tebow, Roy Roundtree isn't Percy Harvin and again your defenses sucked meanwhile Florida has plenty of defensive players in the NFL.

Ohio isn't Florida when it comes to talent, either.

In Florida all you have to do is answer the door for recruits. In Ohio he'll have to work... and he's going to get a lot of players stolen by Hoke/Mattison. They're hitting OH10 hard.

And his offense will work alright. Not great. He's never beaten Michigan, even with his supposed great Florida team that beat OSU. So I couldn't care less.

If it's so easy to recruit in Florida why do Florida, Florida State, and Miami suck this year? Why have Florida State and Miami sucked the last several years?

Besides, OSU has never had a problem getting talent.
