No, time for a big free agency aquisition. Fix the spine of the defense and get a couple of interior O'line guys is my opinion

Osemele will go before Ray-Ray I'm sure, love the Bradham pick, him and levonte David are big time LB secrets.

I am still not that impressed with Couples

    Potential sleeper pick: Tony Dye.

Senior SS from UCLA. Seems we like to draft UCLA players the last couple of years (Ayers and Verner). Was MVP for UCLAs D last year. Was projected to be a 2nd round pick, but is now out for the year due to injury. Could cause his stock to drop a round or more.

Yes we do need a WR and I'll tell you why. For the past 2 years you can trace the decline of our team to the injuries of Kenny Britt. Last year we were 5-2 going into the San Diego game. Britt gets hurt, and we finish the year going 1-8 the rest of the way. We started this season 2-1 and have gone 1-2 now without him. Whenever Kenny goes down, we have NO other options for a #1 WR. We've been stuck with this mess the past two years and the only answer is to either sign a guy like Dwayne Bowe in FA or draft a kid early like Blackmon, Jeffrey, or Broyles. So now, even if Kenny goes out, we still have a WR that can get it done. Plus if Kenny can manage to stay healthy we'll have 2 playmaking WRs that will stretch the field and consequently take attention away from CJ which will improve the running game.

Most successful teams in the NFL have at least 2 WRs that you could consider playmaking WRs, NO has Colston and Meachem, PHI has Jackson and Maclin, Atl has White and Jones, Pit has Ward and Wallace. Etc.

After Kenny the talent level on our WR drops through the ground. Since he hasn't proven he can stay healthy this is the move we HAVE to make, or as the saying goes we'll be doomed to repeat our fate.

Robert Meachem?! Robert Meachem sucks! New Orleans' second best receiver is Jimmy Graham, a tight end.(I'd even make the argument that Graham is their biggest threat, with Colston as #2)

Philly has Jeremy Maclin and Desean Jackson and they've won less games this year than the Titans have.

Atlanta had the #1 seed in the NFC last year with Michael Jenkins(who's as average as average can get) as their second WR, not Julio Jones. Also, the Falcons have been better on offense without Jones because they've gone back to running the ball with Michael Turner instead of trying to turn the offense into the Matt Ryan Show.

Hines Ward is not a playmaker anymore. Ward is averaging less than ten yards a catch, has two touchdowns and less receiving yards than Chris Johnson has rushing yards.

There's no denying that our offense is significantly worse without Britt than it is with him, but that's because all of our other WRs are just that bad. The coaching staff obviously had confidence that Williams would step up if he had to, and he didn't. Nate Washington is a borderline #2 who can't carry a passing game by himself. Every other guy is a scrub.

Okay who was our QB last year? How did our defense do last year? You're saying Britt is the sole reason why we win and lose? Are you serious? How is another WR going to fix that defense we have? Oh and let's just face facts we were very lucky to beat the Ravens and if that game was play 5 more times they would win. The Jags beat the Ravens, and yeah the Jags beat us and we had Britt then.

Maybe if we had a DL or a playmaker at LB our offense wouldn't have the added pressure of scoring so much. So please tell me why with a potential top 15 pick why we would go WR when it's an easy fix in free agency or a pick in the 3rd round. Would you really pass up a starter on defense, especially SS for one?

Also, Meachem are you serious? Drew Brees runs that team and everyone gets the ball. Philly had Vick, the Steelers have Ben, and oh how are the Falcons doing so far? 3rd in the NFC South, ouch.

You build inside then out. We have Locker for the future, CJ if he can get it together, and a solid OL that needs help on the interior. On the outside we have Britt and D-Will looks like at least a future #3 for us. There is no need to draft one in the 1st round. Then look at the defense...DL is filled with question marks, a couple good prospects at LB, and depends on the day you ask about our DB's.

Sounds like you're contradicting yourself there. So basically you're saying "All our WR's but Britt are bad, but we don't need to draft one."

Let's follow my line of logic here.

    - With Britt out we have NO other WR that can consistantly make plays and get open.
    - Since that is the case, teams are stacking the box to try and stop our only other offensive threat, CJ and it is working. This may make it appear that the o-line is not doing it's job by opening holes for the running game, but when there are 8 men in the box, it's 5 on 8 and hard, if not impossible to block that many people trying to get to the ball carrier (this is not a defense of Amano though, who I think needs replaced but you don't take a center in the 1st round).
    - This causes the offense to be ineffective and prevents them from sustaining drives.
    - When you can't sustain drives it leaves your defense out on the field for a longer period of time and they get winded and tire out.
    - Thus the defense looks worse than it actually is, because it's being left out on the field for much longer than it should be. Look at the recent TOP and you'll see this is the case.

FACT: We had the #1 defense at one point of the year this year, that's when they weren't being left out on the field for close to 40 minutes per game.

So if you draft the right WR round 1, it opens things for the run game, the o-line has fewer people to block, and the defense isn't on the field for an ungodly amount of time.

I'm glad you brought up the idea of drafting a WR in later rounds, because that has normally been the mindset of the organization in past drafts. How has that worked out for us? (stealing a post from HeadonASwivel from another thread).

    cool story bro.
    Titans QBs:
Steve McNair-Titan from '98 to '05. 1 Super Bowl Appearance, couple other good seasons.

    since then....

Billy Volek? Vince Young, well, good record but he gives thanks to the defense and CJ. Kerry Collins?

oh and when did we have our best seasons after McNair? Yeah when we had a DL led by Haynesworth and KVB. Who do we have now?

    Conclusion:
Need to build with QB and line, not a WR.
