The poor guy is being set up to fail.

Andrew Luck is really good. Is he a future HOFer?... Probably not.

There's never going to be another Peyton Manning, he's the smartest QB to ever play the game. He just isn't that good in pressure situations. I agree that Luck is good, but everyone putting him in the Brees, Brady, Manning tier need to check themselves.

Lol @ kids these days. Judging QBs on their abilities to run for first downs.

Real QBs don't have to run. Ever noticed that no "run-first" QB has ever won a superbowl.

Vick's the only one I give a pass to on that, because he's really freakishly fast for a QB, and evolved into a pretty good pocket passer over the years. And Aaron Rodgers, but his running ability is really just an after thought.

Cam could reach that level, I think. But the great VY killed the idea of "running QBs" being a real threat at the NFL level. The problem is a lot of them run because they can't pass for sh!+ and that won't get you anywhere.

but yeah lol @ comparing Andrew Luck to VY. Andrew Luck's better than VY. Matt Barkley's better than VY. Tyler Bray's better than VY. Aaron Murray's better than VY. AJ McMahon's better than VY.

Basically ever QB that comes out of the draft this year is better than VY. That's why he's not starting. :)

And Andrew Luck really is that good. He'll be among the elite for sure when it's all said and done. Hope the Colts don't wind up with him. Hell I'd sacrifice this pitiful season to get him and trade Locker (and I like Locker), if I didn't think there would be multiple teams this year winding up with less three wins.

Regardless of what you think of "running qbs" they're still the future of the NFL and pure pocket passers wont exist here in another 10 years.

Did you take my 100 dollar bet on Cam Newton in the other thread? I can't find it.

The thread I mean. I can't find the thread.

Not enough arm strength? Yeah right, dude. His arm strength is on par with Jake Locker's, maybe stronger. Watch him in person, he has a cannon. People are looking for flaws, that's all. It's easy to point to someone who's completing 70% and say that his arm is only average. Accuracy and strong armed are not mutually exclusive, just very rarely seen together. When they do come together, you get one of the best QBs in the past 10 years.

Once somebody gets hyped up people don't want to like them. Regardless of whether or not the hype is true. People were (and still are) talking mad ish on Cam. And somebody just made an "Is Darelle Revis overrated thread".

I still wish he woulda come out last year so we could have landed Cam. I think we would have too. If I remember right nobody 2-7 was even thinking QB.

I agree with DW in the sense that we won't see anymore Peyton Mannings who just stand there like a statue in a few years, but we're never going to have a league of Michael Vicks. At most it'll be a league of Big Ben's/Aaron Rodgers, who move around a lot in the pocket, and keep plays alive but don't scramble too much. IMO anyways.
