A top wide receiver is not going to make this team better. Calvin Johnson was on the Lions for a few years, putting up great numbers, with no wins to show for it. Larry Fitzgerald was in the same situation before and after Kurt Warner.

This team needs to build a defense that can keep it in games consistently. We need to start up front. The ability to stop the run and rush the passer consistently has been nonexistent since Albert Haynesworth went to the Redskins.

Shaun Smith is not a starting defensive tackle in the NFL. Karl Klug is only a sub-package player. Jason Jones, William Hayes and Dave Ball ain't doin' sht at defensive end. We're still in a wait and see situation with Derrick Morgan. I like what Jurrell Casey can bring to the table, but this defensive line is absolute garbage.

good points... when opposing teams are averaging 10+ yards every 4 play, a high caliber WR isn't going to help you there.. especially if he's going to be double teamed on the other side of the ball..

Normally I would agree with you guys about the WR, but there is a huge difference when Britt is playing and when he is not. I would take a hard look at the wr's available when we pick in the 1st round this year.

If there isn't a game changing WR available though, then yeah I would go Oline or Dline depending on FA signings and who is there when we pick.

Shaun Smith does his job, which is take up space... He's nothing special though.

A top WR actually would make us a better team. You can't compare what happened on other teams because each team is different. My point is a good WR would keep us from getting in a mess like we had yesterday, only having gained 148 yards in the entire game. It protects us from going down the crapper when Britt is out like we have the past 2 years. Plus I dare say it would help our defense when our offense can stay on the field and sustain drives.

You don't build a team from the outside in.

The offensive line and defensive line need to be addressed instead of trying to win a shootout every week with all these great toys on the outside. Especially when you don't have an elite quarterback.

The drafting of a guy like Ndamukong Suh changed the makeup of the Detroit Lions defense. Calvin Johnson made a lot of great individual plays.

I see the point you're making. But IDK at the same time I think WR is the best option for us. If we could get an impact DT at our pick and Blackmon & Jeffrey are gone, go for it. Best player available at DL, LB, SS, WR, OG/C in my eyes.

We have to have play makers on offence. Our defense would be better if they werent on the field after our offence goes 3 n out every possesion. Look at our stats when Britt is healthy. WTF are we think that Dwilliams or Hawk are gonna step up....thats excuse is old now. Jake Locker cant cut it with the Scrubs we have at WR. I do agree you build a team from the inside out but at the same time if we block well but dont have WR that cant get open whats the point??? I wouldnt mind seeing us get someone to get to the QB, thats what winning teams have

Cool, looking forward to it. I have one with us trading CJ to the Bengals as well, but I took a 2nd and a 3rd for him.
