Fun fact about Volek is that he came in for an injured Rivers and engineered a winning drive for the Chargers against the Colts in the 2007 playoffs. Is that perfroming in crunch time?

Yeah Kerry Collins was obviously the better choice after his monster season in 2005....lmfao. Weaknesses? How about the weakness of having Ben Troupe and Tyrone Calico to throw to.....or try to......

Kerry Collins has a hilariously slow release and that's why it's so easy to blitz him.......that's a weakness sweet heart.

Fisher publicly was against putting Vince in in 2009, which was the decision of HIS boss. No, there wasn't any bad blood......

    You are drowning.....

I was responding to the knocks on Volek. And again, Volek proved he could be a starter with his play in 05, remember he was also considered one of the elite back-ups during his time in Tennessee. Sure, hindsight is 20/20, but I'm pretty sure most of here already knew KFC would have been benched before midseason, the dude has been awful for most of his career.

I'm not saying Fisher wanted to sabotage VY's career, but it's obvious he never trusted him and didn't want him as his QB. VY is just as much to blame, but let's look at the facts:

    - Fisher didn't want VY in the first place.
    - Benching against Pitt (who else has pulled their franchise QB these days?).
    - Not giving him start against Miami even though he was healthy and ready to go.

HAHAHAHAHA maybe in your little fantasy world with you and your VY fathead sipping tea...but in reality YOU ARE DREAMING son.

AGAIN, I was not a fan of the Collins signing (you seem to ignore alot of stuff in my posts...maybe you are having hallucinations).

VY's behavior here got him removed, and until he grows up it will keep him off of the field for any other NFL team. That is just a FACT, and time is proving this to be true. I mean Raiders, Dolphins dipped pretty far into the barrel to scrounge up starting QBs this week....why wasn't VY in that mix genius??? You think Fisher reached out, called both teams, and blackballed him with those also? Will that be your next helicopter theory Junior?

Wow, this is a circular conversation that we all had LAST YEAR.

Agree, Fisher probably did not want him in the first place. What about his performance has proven Fisher wrong??? Don't get me wrong, in hindsight none of the elite prospects that season would have been worth a pick.

I was AT the Pitt game...we were throwing up all over ourselves on offense when we got anywhere close to the red zone. Fumbles and ints....I was not yelling for him to be removed, but I did not disagree with the choice either.

The start with Miami probably did portend what was coming, BUT by that time I think that Fisher and his staff had had enough of the VY drama. AGAIN, when all of this went down last season I thought that BOTH needed to go. All of this I said numerous times ad nauseum last year.

On Volek, again, I think his stock dropped alot from 04 to 05, mainly because of some of his pocket issues. His inability to land a starting job since leaving the team should tell you about his ability to start in the NFL IMO.

This whole thread is stupid. If VY had thrown a td would he suddenly have become a hall of famer in your eyes? The one play doesn't prove jack. He came off the bench cold and threw a poor pass as he was being sacked. He probably should have thrown it away but he was probably a little bit amped to get in the game. I'll still take him over Matt Hasselback any day.

I'm laughing now because it is becoming clear how much this team sucked and that losing to the Steelers wasn't his fault. Wasn't that the stat you always like to throw out there? How he lost more to good teams? Your getting stomped by the Texans and he never lost to the Texans, this version being a Texan team without Andre Johnson. How do you like that stat you freaking rednecks?

Uhh, his play in 09? His play in 10? You make it sound like VY is the only QB to ever turn the ball over. Wait, what did VY do to warrant the benching... in week 2 of the season lol? The fact he just went 9-2 and posted a 140 QB rating the week before? KFC would not have been pulled, just face it, Fisher's ego clouded his coaching judgement.

Miami portended what was coming? Uhh yeah, and VY finally had it after he wasn't given a chance to go back in against Washington. And no, I'm not condoning throwing your pads in the stands but I don't blame him one second for cussing him out, the problem was not doing it during office hours.

Most QB's would have trouble starting when playing behind Rivers...

All of this was discussed AD NAUSEUM last season....we have a difference of opinions here, that is it. Some folks choose to only see his good attributes (regular season record for example), some choose to only see his bad attributes (work ethic/desire to learn playbook for example)...I choose to see both. I can get back into VY's issues while here, but I have done this a gazillion times already, so I am done with that.

Have I said that Fisher was INNOCENT in all of this? For the gazillionth time, NO! However, to think that VY's departure was some conspiracy is just plain silly. Plenty of blame to go around on both sides, and VY's status now (as well as the lack of interest in him, both during the offseason and during this last round of QB replacements) tells me alot about some of the claims made about him while here.

Same for Volek...if he was starting QB material in this league someone would have snatched him from the Chargers over the past several years, either during a season or during an offseason. The fact that no one has tells me about his perceived stock as a starter in the NFL.

Yeah regular season....like losing a playoff game in your second year in the league is such a fail among quarterbacks.

Work ethic? You mean the lack of work ethic that has him visibly ( since you only like to EYE things) different as a passer then when he first entered the league?

Desire to learn playbook? There aren't any packages that were being held back by Vince. Hell, there's was more creativity with Vince in there than Kerry. As we can clearly see now, our receiving core (or corps) is plain no good without Britt.

FYI, young and inexperienced receivers hold back the "playbook" too. So go back and look at all the established receivers we have had the past five years :suspect:

You want another perceived notion aroung the league? Fisher is one of the top coaches in the league.....about as dumb as everyone thinking Moss was done after 2006.....

Like I was mentioning earlier about Steve Young. His first two years in the league had him as a perceived bust......

As I said, there are those that only see VY's good side and those that only see his issues. I see both...

This is a case in point of the first group. Difference in opinion, this is going nowhere....after 8 days and not sure how many pages now, I am done rehashing the past.

See you in the rest of the forum...been fun.
