Uhhh....yeah it can. A Javon Ringer apologist? Our oline is pathetic.

If it can be said about CJ, how did he actually have a run over 5 yards and a couple bigger ones that were called back?

Maybe because the only time the oline opens a gap is when they're holding... duh. Of course he gets good gains when guys are hugging linebackers. It's ALL on the OLine. Simple as that. Not a single back on this team has had anything like a good game.

Thing is, the coaching staff seems content to just throw the ball when defenses are clearly selling out to stop the run. And it's working.

Both running backs aren't performing well, I have seen more from Ringer on the ground than I have CJ. But the O-line is performing worse than both of them combined (with run blocking).

CJ is obviously more of a HR hitter than Ringer and a bigger name...but Ringer deserve a lot more respect than he gets on this forum. He is a heck of a football player. If our O-line was playing well and for some reason we didn't have CJ...Ringer would be the starter and people would love the guy. He has a nose for the game.

Yes there is holding in some form or another on every play...but CJs 5 yard run wasn't called back for holding was it? So there goes that argument out the window.

And I would consider Ringers game against the Ravens a good game...if you don't want to call it that..at least label it respectable:

5 attempts for 21 yards and a TD
    2 receptions for 30 yards

Is that possibly a result of CJ being significantly more elusive? He made multiple guys miss in the backfield, sometimes on the same play.

Ringer had a good play or two. Not really a good game. Takes more then 7 touches to have a good game.

Again, this is on the oline. If you give CJ holes to run through, he's arguably the most dangerous guy in the league. Ringer is more then just serviceable when he has running room. But neither of them are getting any room at all. If you're telling me that because of a single 5 yard carry over a three game span that CJ is getting good looks while Ringer isn't, well, I'd say you don't know what you're talking about.

Anyone care to explain why we moved Amano to C and Harris to G? Harris looked at least decent when Mawae went down in 2009... and he's a natural center. Our OLine has been dookie since we made that move, so what gives? Are we in denial of our terrible run blocking?

Since Ringer is a power back, he should just run right through those guys. No?

    Good post.

I'll say that is a good game with the opportunities he got that day.

The bold portion of the quote is just filler in your post, because I would not think about even suggesting that.

And regarding your last paragraph..I am as lost as everyone else is..
