Chill out everybody. He will be back Monday. We'll never know for sure and I don't care for the drama- not from Finny, not from the media, not from the FO. If Finny pulls another AWOL stunt then the team/league can punish him for conduct detrimental to the team. I wish he hadn't done it, but I'm sure he had his reasons. Sounds like it won't happen again.

But just in case, he is on "double secret probation" in my book.

If he's back Monday, all is well in my opinion. We should just forgive and forget this little episode for now.

Don't blame the media.....in general. However, I will blame certain MEMBERS of said media that decide to leave out certain parts of a story in order to stir controversy. Yes, that happens.:grrhee:

So has it been confirmed that it was indeed a personal matter?

Either way, let's trade him!

Yes, that's a great idea. Since we have much better corners on our roster. :sarcasm:

I don't get all the Finnegan hate? Yeah, he's not an "elite" corner - everyone knows that. But he's still an above average caliber CB IMO. He can't guard taller WRs, but do you really expect 5'10 Finny to outjump 6'3 Andre Johnson? I love the tenacity Finnegan plays with, and do not wish to trade him. Who would we start? McCourty and Verner. Verner played solid last year, but he did have 100 tackles - thats usually not good for corners. He allowed a lot of passes, and got the tackles shortly after. McCourty hasn't proved me anything that says he's a starting corner. But hey, his twin brother is pretty legit, maybe he can still develop. Regardless, Finnegan is still a good corner, and I see zero reason to trade him - especially since he's one of few team captains we have. Hopefully all of this Finnegan hate blows over and he comes back on Monday. No harm no foul. :suspect:

    Bottom line

    Finny's CB play aside

He handled this situation very poorly

    1. He leaves camp without letting the appropriate personnel know (i.e. Coach, GM ect.)
    2. He throws Jimmy Wyatt under the bus, who is one of the nicest beat writer/media person I've ever met. If it was PK, I could understand a little more.
    3. Finny creates drama that this team does not need, and for pointless reasons.
    4. He basically calls Munch and MR liars, which if Fish was still our coach, it might hold more water, but not Munch.
    5. He didn't help his cause at all, and I fully expect Finny to come out today and say something like "It's in the past, what happened, happened and we all are moving on" This would be a typical response I would expect, when he should say something like "I was unhappy with an offer on the table but I handled the situation wrong, I want to apologize and now I'm back to work and let's move on"

Let's see if Finny "Man's up" with his response to the media today. I think the Titans need to fine his butt $30k for missing a day of camp, but I don't see that happening either.

I'm also ready for us to be looking at this situation in the rear view mirror, but it will be interesting to see what Finny has to say today.

#1 is the biggest thing for me "1. He leaves camp without letting the appropriate personnel know (i.e. Coach, GM ect.)".

I have NO problem with missing a practice for "personal/family issues", but atleast inform the upper management you'll be gone. He claims he did, but why would the Mikes claim he didn't?

No one would have a problem with Finny having to leave due to personal reasons. It happens all the time to many players in camp and during the season. Even though Twitter is not an appropriate way to let the coach know what's going on, Finny obviously knows how to use it and should have emailed or tweeted to Munch about his having to leave. I'm sure Munch wouldn't have had a problem with it at all.

My problem with the media is that it isn't news any more. Those guys throw up tweets and facebook updates and blogs and whatever else of every possible rumor there is along with every possible scenario that could have led to it, then sorts it out after everything settles down.
