Helps if a coach allows you to throw and doesn't pull you because your shirt isn't tucked in. Just remember one thing. Hasselbeck has very weak arm strength, which is not good in a dinger offense.

On a side note, if Vince was allowed to play the entire 2009 or 2010, he would have surpassed 3000 yards. Which in fairness, is impressive considering "Air" McNair barely surpassed 3000 yards.

Please, no James Jones. He is a David Givens waiting to happen.

I would be happy with most except for
    Roy Williams
    Sims Walker

I think what we need is reliability at the WR position. Those two are ghosts for 3/4 of the season. We don't have one stable player at the WR position. Britt is a question mark, Washington drops constantly, Williams hasn't been given enough opportunity yet.

I think Jones would be fine here, he wouldn't come in with the same pressure that Givens did, and probably not as big of a contract either.

    No argue there.

Steve Smith (Panthers one) would be the sweetest. Ton of rumors about him requesting a trade last year, he declined them all though. Don't see it happening, but would be nice.

It's a good thing we don't have a Dinger offense, now isn't it? :clown:

Mike Sims-Walker would be nice but I really don't care about a WR. I like what we have to be honest.

I believe SS,CB, and DL is what we have to do next

Not sure what Chris Palmer wants to do, but the Seahawks under Hasselbeck's tenure began with Mike McCormick's version of a west coast offense, and then morphed over the past couple of seasons into a somewhat more vertical form of the same. With McCormick it was all timing, quick reads, passing on first and second downs, spreading the ball around, keeping the D off balance and almost using the passing game to set up the running game. During their Superbowl year in 2006, lots of 'second down and three yards to go for a first' situations because of quick hitters on first down, setting up play action or halfback counters and draws and dives with Shaun Alexander.

Under Jim Mora and then Pete Carroll, they started stretching the vertical passing game a bit more, looking for favorable match ups in the slot or with the wide outs. The Seahawks lost Steve Hutchinson to the Vikings and Walter Jones was playing injured and began declining physically; and the OL as a whole went through ongoing flux and changes. So Hasselbeck took more hits and sacks, and played hurt quite a bit through the past three seasons.

  9. As long as the money is reasonable, I'm OK with this move. Clearly they didn't want to start Locker right away. And Locker already has a good relationship with him, so that's what makes this mentorship (hopefully) work.

As for Hasselbeck as a starting QB, I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised. But it's not like I have any real hopes for this season anyway.

Mike Sims-Walker is an average player. The Jags need WRs so badly and let that guy walk without any sort of compensation. He's had a serious knee injury(while being banged up in general) and has been inconsistent overall.

A career-high of 63 catches and 869 yards? He might be better than Nate, but it's just a hair better and Sims-Walker is always hurt.
