I like this pick even though I'm not that big of a Hasselbeck fan. He provides our offense some stability for once and should open up the run game.

Hopefully we don't just sit back and we are still aggressive after we resign CJ. I would like to see us try and make our O-line better and sign another big target WR for Hasselbeck to throw to. Also we have lots of issues on the defensive side of the ball I would like to see fixed. We aren't that far off from being a team that should be feared.

we definitely need to go after CJ now.... no more of this stack 8 in the box to stop the run... we can actually throw the ball now!
but.... be weary, he is only 2 years younger than kerry.... don't expect to be at the top in our first season... I'm just glad we got such a great guy... rather than a skankweed like orton

I'm not sure it is a good move, but I'm just happy to see the team making a move. I was beginning to worry that they'd eff this one up, too.

The Titans are definitely a better team today.

Wow. I became a Titan's fan when they drafted Jake Locker, and now am doubly so with the signing of Matt Hasselbeck. I believe that MH still has a couple of good years left in him physically. He's a super competitor, has a great attitude, and excels at reading defenses. If the Titans can provide him even decent pass protection, then he can pick defenses apart and make them pay for whatever vulnerabilities that their particular scheme is leaving open. He made a career of that in Seattle. And btw, he loves looking for the tight end as a passing option to keep defenses honest.

Plus, I'm not sure that JL could have a better all-around mentor. My guess is that JL will constantly pick his brain for understanding defenses and making reads and exploiting whatever defenses are giving. I wouldn't be surprised to find that he goes over to Matt's house to watch films together. I can't help but think this is going to be productive and valuable move by the Titans organization, because MH believes in the idea of 'paying it forward' as far as mentoring is concerned. And by the time that he hands over the reigns, JL should have a good education about professional quarterbacking.

I've never been a fan of Hasselbeck. His bald noggin irritates me every time I see it.

    However I'm a fan now.:)

Definitely the best option for Locker to be developed the right way.

Now I want to know how much we paid for Hasselbeck and over how long.

I guess we can hear his Brother brag about our team on ESPN now :)

Also, I expect to see Rogaine ads all over LP Field.

Really good signing in my opinion. I can see the sun now in the gloomy clouds.

just think how pump CJ is? He now knows he has a qb that will light up a secondary if they stack the bock against him... If we can add some peices to our D we could be a really good team...

plus we're getting D morgan back to

I'd be ok with Hasselbeck lighting it up like Kurt Warner and us not finding out how good Locker is for a few years.

CJ doesn't care about anyone other than himself and his money. He may be a little excited because a different hand will be handing off the ball to him, and occasionally throwing him one that he doesn't have the hands to catch.

We should go get another target for Hass/Locker.

Britt - Washington - DWill - Gage - Mariani isn't bad. But i'm hoping we can go out and get a legit #2 option (then cut Gage).

    Free Agents:
    - Santonio Holmes (won't happen)
    - Sidney Rice (won't happen)
    - Braylon Edwards (unlikely)
    - Malcom Floyd (unlikely)
    - Steve Smith (NYG, unlikely)
    - Lance Moore (possible)
    - Mike Sims-Walker (possible)
    - Randy Moss (possible)
    - Steve Breaston (possible)
    - James Jones (possible)
    - Roy Williams (possible)

    - Steve Smith (CAR, via trade?)

I'd be happy with any of the above really.
