Here's what I see: the remaining QBs are pretty well separated into great stats but bad wins vs. mediocre stats but lots of quality wins. The question is how will the voters weigh each--and how do WE weigh each? And then there are a couple that would have been no-brainer picks till this past year but suffered injuries or bad luck that may be held against them.

I do have one guy I'd like more than the others, but I have other priorities with the next two picks. Some really high-quality guys have slipped through the cracks at other positions.

    Um...

I think we should finish up the picks after the draft so all teams are complete. We should also make sure we start the coaches draft with all present people. If Finnbosch or anyone else hasn't shown back up, I think we should replace them with someone who's here.

There is one remaining non-QB that is head and shoulders at the top of my list.
And although I could likely get my QB later at this point for me I would rather have my QB.

BTW-Am I on the clock yet?

Didn't see Eli Manning coming, but I understand the logic. I wasn't targeting him for one reason though: turnovers.

    Ah, the turnover perception.
Brees threw 22 picks, but there isn't a turnover perception that surrounds him.

Eli is one of those picks where I had to make myself happy and pick the player that I would actually want.
I think I can make a strong case for why Eli is better then some of the QB selected ahead of him.
If the aim of this exercise is to win the superbowl, then any QB that's actually accomplished the task is already ahead of any QB that hasn't won it.
Because you're making a projection that QB X can win the SB vs. knowing that QB Y has actually won a superbowl.

Not to mention that Eli actually played very well during the Giants playoff run, unlike his brother. ;)

The other QB I would take from the remaining group is Jay Cutler, but he has a worse perception then Eli, I mean people really dislike the guy.

Cutler's not even on my radar. I'm trying to build a tough team. Cutler's a marshmallow.

Since everyone else has a QB now, I actually feel safe saying that my choice right now is down to Joe Flacco, Tony Romo, and Matt Schaub. Thoughts? :p

I am surprised Thomas was left for me here. Four forced fumbles and 101 tackles, five picks each of the last two years (lots in the endzone), solid blitzer, total heads-up player on every play. He'll be a monster in the slot for me.

See the perception continues, nevermind that Jay was sacked 52 times and still led an average to below average offensive unit deep into the playoffs.

I live in Baltimore and see quite a bit of Flacco, but I can say without bias that I would have Flacco at the top of the list.

I think Flacco is better then Ryan, big kid, strong arm, more mobile then people think, came out of the gate as rookie playing good football.
If they put some receivers around him watch out.

I'm a Redskins fan so i'm biased against Romo, but I can objectively say that Kitna put up decent numbers when Romo was out.
And Romo has come up small in the playoffs, but he's a good regualr season playmaking/adlib QB.

Schaub is a good QB playing in pass happy system, but his physical skillset is limited.

All pieces of my own breakdown, Ed. Here's the flipside I see:

-Flacco: similar numbers to Ryan without Roddy White or Tony Gonzalez or anything close to them. Lots of wins and playoff trips, but on a great team with a deep roster.

-Romo: a legitimate playmaker, lots of big plays, a good leader. The fumbles in the playoffs have been a problem, but he's also hampered by bad coaching, an awful pass-blocking O-line, and a really soft team around him. What could he do on a well-coached, tough-minded team?

-Schaub: great accuracy and low turnovers, huge numbers, and has finally gotten healthy for a long streak. The win totals are low, but he's playing with a horrendous defense and is constantly under pressure to put up points. And I feel like people would punish him for not having Andre Johnson.

Of the 5 guys mentioned I would rank them

    Eli

    Cutler
    Flacco

    Schaub
    Romo

Eli clearly the top of the list and a toss of a coin between Cutler and Flacco for 2nd. The other 2 guys wouldn't be in the equation for my money.
