Representatives from both sides on here are bad about a pretty pointless debate.

I'm not sure that I have correctly understood what you're trying ask/suggest here. Would you care to either reword it or further elaborate?

Well said...what happened was on VY, he is the only thing holding himself back from being the "elite" QB he believes he is. Hopefully being cut will be a wake up call and he'll get his career turned around to where it should be. The talent is there, the maturity is not.

What I was saying is that Vince Young is trade bait. A decision won't be made until the last minute.

Just so everyone knows I am getting off of the "Let's debate about VY wagon" everything that can be said has been said and I don't think anyone is going to change anyone's stance on this issue.

I had this thought about Young the other day and I thought I would out this question out there. How long do you think Young will be an effective QB in the NFL? I would say he fizzles out in about 3-4 more seasons much like McNair and to a lesser extent McNabb did. Looking at his injury history he has injured his hamstring multiple times, his knee twice, his ankle twice, and most recently the tendon in his throwing hand.

How many times have we seen QB lose effectiveness by getting injured multiple times? I would have to assume that with Young's history the chances of him getting hurt again are very high and I wonder how much more banged up can he get and still physically be an effective signal caller.

If he was only a scrambling QB I'd agree with you. But he's not anymore. He's a hybrid. He can be a pocket passer but he's also mobile.

And he's a QB. I'd give him another 5-7 years. Maybe more as a backup.

The plan was for VY to sit a year behind McNair or Volek, Collins was so awful, VY's career started prematurely, along with the fact he had very limited offensive talent to work with his first two years. Look what happened after he was benched and got to play with CJ: 20 tds to only 9 ints, 3100 something passing yards in a run first offense, over a 90 qb rating in just a little over a season. Just a bit better than decent, wouldn't you agree.

That thumb injury would have happened to anyone and he hurt his knee trying to be Superman.

The coach spent his time keeping VY looking over his shoulder. The coach already didn't like him so you could imagine how much he hated VY after Jax 08. Not that I condone what VY did, but 8-2 and helping the team save face was redemption, and that coach needed to get over it 2 years later. Pulling your franchise QB the second game of the season? Seriously lol? VY should have finished that game. The great mind of Fisher struck again.

    The man can ball.

    I agree.

And a lot of people on here have the Jacksonville issue all wrong.

Young got injured and came out of the game. Vince wanted to go back in but Collins was given the go ahead. Vince was upset and then was allowed to go back into the game. That's when he got re-injured and was out for a while.

The exact opposite situation that happened in the Skins game.

So Vince didn't quit. Go back and watch the game tape.

Wow! That is some SERIOUS revisionist history. Why don't you try clicking the heels of your ruby slippers and say "The Tians are going to keep VY.." three times?
