Dalton won't be there in the 3rd sadly; not with all the teams that need a quarterback.

I don't think you can play "wait/bank on next year" with college prospects (i.e. tank and draft Luck idea)

if it turns out you miss your guy (and end up with say 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, etc pick) then not only have you thrown a season away, but you've set yourself back another one

....and the only guaranteed "tank" (winless season) results in pretty much entire staffs and rosters being gutted the next year, which more times than not sets you back several more years

I think those of us who prefer next years crop of QBs to this years crop don't want us to tank the season. Just have the guts to do what it takes to move up and get the player you feel is your guy. Personally if we can really stock up on defense in this years draft, I'd give up every pick in next years draft to take Luck. He's that good. Who now, looking back, wouldn't trade a whole class of draft pics for Peyton Manning? I've heard many people say Luck could be the best QB prospect since Manning. Even if we can't get Luck, Barkley and L. Jones are still better than any QB in this years draft and have a ton of potential.

Luck yes, the rest of next years class is not so spectacular.

Jones and Barkley had great years and are great prospects. Check out last seasons numbers. Then compare them to this years supposed #1 QB Gabbert and I think it proves my point that next years crop is better than this years.

    Landry Jones
    RAT YDS TD INT CMP%
    101.1 4718 38 12 65.6

    Matt Barkley
    RAT YDS TD INT CMP%
    94.8 2791 26 12 62.6

    Blaine Gabbert
    RAT YDS TD INT CMP%
    86.2 3186 16 9 63.4

They are great prospects but since when do you cash it in this year for a chance to draft a QB next year. You never know how any of these prospects will turn out. Players get hurt, stay in school, suffer setbacks like Ponder and Locker.
If Locker comes out last year he is a top 5 pick. This year his name might not be called until the second round.
You can't pass on guys because you might get a better pick next year.
The 2014 QB class looks even better! Psssh whatever.
