Nick Fairley at #8?

Of course we need a DT. Ours can't stay healthy and need to be a part of a rotation (not full time starters).

IF Fairley is there we will take him unless Peterson somehow falls that far too.

 

I'll believe it after the 49ers make their pick.

If he's there I think we take him unless we're really sold on a QB, which I don't think we are.

 

This thread was necessary because now we know for sure he'll be there.

 

If he's there and we don't take him, we suck.

 

If he and Peterson are there and we take neither, we blow.

 

At one point I really liked Nick Fairley, that's before I started to look into the guy. Not i'm 50/50 on him.

-6'4 298
-Has a "soft body"
-Questionable work ethic
-One year wonder
-Extremely dirty player

Regardless, if he could get motivated, and stay motivated... he could be a force.

I'd rather have:
Marcel Dareus, DaQuan Bowers, or Von Miller before Fairley.

 

Sorry Denver is getting Marcel Dareus at #2.

 

Some of the problems with Fairley can be improved. The lack of upper body strength and the soft body. Those can be addressed in the weight room.

Maybe the fact he didn't work harder on those does say something about him but he was almost unblockable this year.

As for the one year wonder who has any doubt that he would dominate if he had one more year at Auburn? Same for Newton.

What we don't need is another bozo getting 15 yard penalties. We were terrible at that last year. Maybe a safer route would be to go with Bowers or Watt.
