Cause McElroy isn't close to as good as Dalton?

I'll take a 4 year starter who rarely gets sacked or turns the ball over and got better every year. 27 passing td 5 rushing td 2800 passing yds and 66 passing completion %. I don't see what is not to like about the kid and he can make plays with his feet he was sacked a total of 8 times last year and threw only 6 int. 9 YPA is really good. He had an awesome Pro Day and his only knock is his arm strength isn't elite yet everyone is on Ponder's jock when I think Dalton is much better.

I love Mcelroy and as a Bama fan am proud of his rhodes scholar candidacy, near perfect wonderlic and his accomplishments as a player but you honestly have to take a look at what he had to work with there.

Mcelroy played on a team with the best backfield in the country bar none including a heisman winner. One of the absolute best Wrs in the country and a very good o-line. Also had a pretty good supporting cast of Tes and other Wrs.

Ingram and Jones will be 1st rd picks and Richardson in 2012 might get drafted higher than either of them.

He will have an nfl career but it is too much to expect him to be a star in the NFL.

I like Dalton a little better but Mcelroy in rd 4 would not bother me at all.

Looking at a scenario in which we go elswhere in rds 1 and 2 and a QB like Dalton or Stanzi in rd 3 i would like to see us draft a WR in rd 2. Another weapon for our new QB whomever that is.

Hankerson, Baldwin and Smith represent great value with the 39th pick. All had good combine workouts and all were productive over at least 2 seasons in college. Smith is supposed to be more of a speed guy but the other 2 bigger WRs had almost as good 40 times. I think another Wr with some speed would be a great thing and if we are going defense already with our 8th pick we can do that.

Well the Titans have one of the RBs in the league and Britt is a darn good WR. The Titans OL is also solid. Hopefully Cook and Stevens will be ready to step up giving us two solid TEs.

With McElroy it really comes down to if he can make all the throws and I'm not sure he can't. The main thing is getting the ball to the right guy and I think he can do that. We have good enough weapons a guy like McElroy can find the mismatch and complete the play.

No one knows a road like a roads scholar!

Isn't round 2 wild card pick for us if we address the defense in rd 1? Obviously if Mallett or Locker are still there we make that pick but if they are not we need to take the best athlete no matter the position. @ 39 there are a lot of very good athletes still on the board.

If we do go with one of the 2nd tier QB's of this draft class, we should absolutely get a better No.2 WR for him to throw to. Nothings worse for a rookie QB then not being able to find open receivers because none of ours are worth a damn. Kenny Britt knows how to get open, as does Nate, but after that we're standing in quick sand. Gage is straight trash from the dump, Williams is a toss up at this point, and as much as I'd like to think Hawkins is half good, we just don't know with that guy. We already kind of know Moss won't be back, so if some of these lesser QB's end up Titans, we should defiantly go for a good WR in this draft.

Here are some less coveted WR's I could get happy about drafting (in no particular order):

    Aldrick Robinson
    Jeff Maehl
    Tori Gurley
    Cecil Shorts III

That's just a few I think we could get late in the draft but who could make some plays for us.

I really like Pettis in round 3..he reminds me a lot of someone we should have taken instead of Chris Henry, Steve Smith from NYG. Good hands, runs good routes, very good compliment to Britt...
