Just thinking out loud......but has anyone considered that Fairley may have peaked with Rocker as his coach? It would be one thing to get drafted and coached up by a new coach in Washburn, etc. But he would essentially be re-doing his fundamentals with Rocker, no big changes, no new techniques? Just a thought?

The biggest things about DLinemen going to the NFL is the fact that they're going to get coached up and become better versions of just the clay they were in college, can that happen if the player has the same coach as in college?

Mel Kiper's recent mock has both Gabbert and Newton gone by 8th(Bills and Bengals) and both Dts gone. So he has us taking Bowers. I don't think anybody can argue against that one and he can be every bit as much an impact player as any other D-linemen and fits our new scheme.

Bowers and Watt are both great picks at 8.

I'd prefer Watt over Bowers if they are both available, I doubt this will be a popular statement, but Watt seems much more versatile to me, which would be a huge asset considering our Dline at this point.

I LOVE that draft, with the exception of the CB and WR...then again, I hear that the safety position is going to be stacked in next years draft...

to get Austin Pettis in the 6th round is a pretty nice pickup. Dude is an excellent route-runner, fights for the ball, good blocker and is savvy. He's good, basically!

Does anyone else feel like Fairley is very similar to Sapp? He's suddenly falling on draft boards, the media is citing poor work ethic, wrong attitude, etc. I know Sapp called out Fairley earlier for technique, but I could see Fairley's situation comparing to Sapp's.
