For one, I doubt we'd draft a rookie that would end up as a starter if we get Palmer. For what it would cost to get him, for example look at the McNabb trade last year, he went for a 2nd and 3rd. I'd say Palmer would cost us a 2nd and 4th (which is waay to much). So we'd only have a 1st, 3rd, 5-7 to use on a QB, and fill all of our other holes... a 3rd QB would be possible, but IDK I think i'd be better to just use an early pick on a QB and get a vet in FA.

I agree, Palmer is NOT going anywhere but to his couch. Unless some team offers a crazy trade that Brown could not say NO too.. which would have to be ALOT.

Palmer has had great receivers with him while he's been in Cincy and he still hasn't produced. He throws picks at bad times and he's not a clutch QB. He's the worst QB in the division and Flacco is much younger than him.

Palmer's numbers have dropped off the past few years and there's nothing leading me to believe his numbers would go back up. He IS part of the problem in Cincy.

I'm glad he's unavailable now, I was getting a little nervous.

Here's my thought on who I would want or don't want for the QB position.

Flynn = Too hard to tell what talent he has in 2 or 3 games. What I do know is how he messed up at the end of that Monday night game with time running off the clock. It was like he was trying to run out the clock and the Packers were behind. A junior high QB is aware of the game clock. I understand losing track of time with the play clock. But aQB with even junior high expereince knows how much time is left in the game. That tells me he has no idea what is going on around him. I say NO!

Palmer= This guy just isn't that good. He doesn't beat the good teams. I thought he was really going to be a good one until that injury vs Pitt earlier in his career. He really hasn't been the same since.

    Rusty Smith = HELL NO!

K Collins = No, but I would keep him on the team as a back up.

Kolb= I would take Kolb. He also could be a product of the system in Philly as Andy Reid seems to always have QB's do well there. Obviously we aren't anywhere close to a Superbowl with the mess Fisher left. I also don't think Kolb has what it takes to be a superbowl QB. But he is good enough to make us better and maybe get us to the point where a young draft QB this year can be our future.

    Cam Newton = Hell no!

Jake Locker = I would take him.

Ryan Mallett = a big yes. He is by far the most talented passer in the draft. Some say he has off the field issues like doing drugs but as far as I can tell there is nothing that supports that claim. The guy has it and with proper coaching I think he can be a probowler one day. It's always hard drafting young guys because we don't know who has the heart of a champion. But Physically I would take my chances with him.

Vince Young = Hell YES!!!!!!!!!. Our best situation is to keep VY and draft Ryan Mallett. Young is a winner and has been all of his life. He even won despite having a coach like Fisher. Here is our last two seasons with Fisher as coach. Last year we start 0-6 and look lifeless and terrible. VY becomes starter, and we go 13-7 through the middle of this year. Fisher essentially boots VY off the team, and we go back to looking lifeless with a 1-5 finish. I would love to see what VY could do with a coach that actually cares more about winning more than proving a point. It may work out that VY was way better than we ever thought but Fisher was holding him back or he doesn't workout and we have Ryan Mallett.

If Palmer can be had for a 2nd/4th, then I think Munch would make that move. I agree though, I would rather have a rookie QB and a veteran then do that. I want a long term fix, not a band-aid.

    From the list 4realz made..

Flynn - I would take Flynn. He wasn't very good against Det for his 1st career NFL start. But his 2nd start, against the Patriots (THE BEST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE) he had a great game (24/37 (64.9%), 251 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT). He's a wildcard, if we get the Patriots game Flynn, I'd take it in a heartbeat. If the asking price is a 3rd-4th rounder, I would do it.

Palmer - His career is basically over. Brown will not allow him to go anywhere. He's going to retire, becsides the Bengals would overprice him and we'd have to do a McNabb-ish trade for him, do not want.

Rusty Smith - Doubtful as a starter, may serve as a backup (3rd string next year).

    K. Collins - possible backup.

Kolb - He's overrated QB. He has 11 career TDs and 14 carrer INTS. For some reason people think he's amazing, but he's slightly overrated. Sure he has potential, and could be a solid QB, like Schaub after he got traded after being a long time backup. But at what price??? The Eagles want so much for Kolb. I would not trade a 1st rounder, I would consider a 2nd rounder.

Draft QBs = Newton - no thanks. Gabbert - if we had to take a QB at #8, i'd want Gabbert. Locker/Ponder - i'd be happy with in the 2nd. Mallett - in the 3rd, Mallett has a great arm, but plays with no brain.

VY = HE WILL NEVER BE A TITAN AGAIN, GIVE IT A REST!

I agree with everything you said, except Mallett. Reports from the combine were that only Gabbert was better on the boards, and that he did very well in the team interviews. He is a QB I would consider trading back and taking in the middle/late part of round 1. That being said, if we are able to get Dareus/Fairley/Bowers at #8, and get Locker or Ponder in round 2, I'd be extremely pleased.

Then remove Palmer, Flynn, and Kolb from your list. Their franchises have spoken on them too.

So Rusty Smith or Kerry Collins?

Not Kolb, the Eagles have said they will listen to offers for him. They said it the day they franchised Vick, but I would not trade a 1st rounder for Kolb.

Here's an article from yesterdays Tennessean about work outs during this period.

    http://www.tennessean.com/article/2...ut-wait-worry?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|Sports Tennessee Titans

Cook seems to be somewhat featured. This tidbit towards the end caught my eye:

"Cook said a number of Titans, including linebacker Gerald McRath and safety Nick Schommer, have talked about working together on local high school fields. Cook already is catching passes on a regular basis from quarterback Rusty Smith."

Maybe Rusty is working his tail off and will be ready to challenge.
