    Um

I like Watt but he's a much better fit for a 3-4 d. At 6'6", it's hard to take on double teams. He's better off as a 5 technique unless we draft him to play a 3 technique, but we already have a few of those.

Dareus on the other hand is VERY stout against the run - even when double teamed. And Dareus has just as much athleticism with a lot more weight.

Dareus doesn't compare in athleticism. Watt's vertical was 5 inches higher and there is no way dareus can touch his shuttle and cone times. Unfortunately neither ran the 40 at the combine but i can guarantee you Watt is faster at both 40 yards and 10.

My guess is that Watt's 34 reps will be more than Dareus can lift also.

I like Dareus, like that size and lower body strength but Watt is strong in the upper and lower body and is quick enough to play in our new schemes outside and big and strong enough inside.

I do agree he will need to lower the pads more to play inside.

At 6'5 1/2 with a 37 vertical how many balls can he get his hands on in a season? A lot i would think..

Dareus is more of a prototypical DT (not a great pass rusher, good run stopper) and if I'm picking that early I'd rather have a DE who can do it all.

I think a 7 technique is actually the best thing for Watt. Not really a pure outside rusher you would have in a 9 technique and doesn't gobble up blockers like you want in a 5 technique despite his 290 pounds. He does get upfield when he has to and can bust inside between the OG and OT very well on his inside move.

Actually both ran the 40 and that was one of the best things about Dareus' workout with his fast 10 yard split which was better than Watts. But Watt's cone and shuttle really impress and a very good thing for a DE.

I'f we draft a DE we better have traded back. Kerrigan/Jordan could be had middle of the first and would be good 7 technique.

So Kerrigan-Watt-Jordan are good 7 technique prospects. So why trade back and hope you can get one? Stay put and take your pick of the best one.

Kerrigan isn't quite a big as the other 2 but i like him a lot. Seems to me that Watt is ideal for that role.

Kerrigan and Watt will likely be the 2 best D-linemen on the board when we pick. I want us to take the one they think is best. Watt is bigger but Kerrigan is the better pure pass rusher.

True if you like one enough then grab him at 8. I see 8 as a little high for one of these players but they all did well at the combine and could have moved up teams draft boards. All speculation at this point because the draft never goes according to these mocks and player rankings from armchair draft gurus.

LOL, "Question" Marks haha, love it. That really is the best nickname by far for anyone we've got. It wins out over Donnie Nickey's "The Boom" mainly because The Boom flat out sucks, and doesn't accurately represent Donnie Nickey.

As far as my opinion of Watt, I'll gladly stand behind that pick. But I still think a QB would be wiser.

Cameron Jordan really reminds me of D. Morgan. I like him but only if we trade down to the mid-teens. I'd have no problem with Watt at 8. I think he's the 2nd best DE in the draft after Bowers (with apologies to R. Quinn).

completely different players and most likely different positions. Quinn is going to be a pass rushing DE in the 4-3 while Watt is more of a 3-4 DE or possibly a DT in some 4-3 systems.

Cam Jordan and Derrick Morgan have similar measurables but Morgan was asked to rush the passer while Jordan played some 4-3 some 3-4 and was asked to tie up blockers. Not really similar styles although they were asked to do two different things and both did them well.
