Vince is still > Kolb, McNabb, Orton, Palmer

Why are we giving up draft picks again when we're already drafting a replacement?

When you can prove that statement false yes.

We're going to give up a top 3 draft pick to get a QB, then use a top 3 draft pick to draft a QB. So that leaves us with 1 top 3 draft pick to address defense. Usually your top 3 picks are guys who can play right away.

If our top 3 defensive guy doesn't pan out than we haven't improved our defense from last year and could have similar problems.

I'm sorry, I'm a Titans fan 1st, player hater/lover 2nd. Once Young is cut or traded, this thread will die. Currently, all of the "listed" QB options are set to return to their teams. Kinda like our QB is set to be traded or cut.

It is very unlikely that we use two of our top 3 picks on QBs. If we were to trade for Matt Flynn, I would almost guarantee you it would be for a conditional 4th in 2012. We would not deal for McNabb with his contract, if we did it would be a mid to late rounder. If we dealt for Kolb, we would not be drafting another QB, same with Carson. The only one one your list that we would deal a top 3 round pick this year for and still consider drafting a QB is Orton, and Denver has said they are keeping him.

I like the idea of not giving up a top 3 pick. If we did, it would be a pretty bad move IMO. I do think we'd still draft a QB if Palmer or Kolb were picked up. I'm under the impression they'll be staying with their teams though.

So if it looks like we won't get Palmer, Orton, Kolb, or McNabb who are our real options at QB? I don't feel Flynn has done enough to make him our starter (which is what we'd be doing by signing him).

Our offense has all the weapons in place. All we need is a QB...

My guess is Bulger/Collins, 2nd or 3rd round pick and Rusty.
Not exactly glamorous but serviceable for a year while the DP learns. I think Carson will retire and Kolb will require too high a price. Orton/Flynn are wildcards..

Kolb will turn 27 in August, if we trade a first round pick for him, he is our QB of the future. We may still take one late (round 6 or 7) as a back-up, but there would not be one taken early. Philly will end up dealing him, he won't re-sign there after 2011 when he is a FA, and they won't franchise him if they give Vick a longterm deal. Cincy will ask for a 1st round pick if they deal Carson, and that will not happen here (I could see Seattle giving up their late 1st for him).
As for the real options, Flynn is the top of my list, mainly because of cost. I would rather deal a conditional 4th in 2012 for him then a 2011 top 10 pick for Kolb. If we go draft and FA, then you're looking at Kerry Collins, Hasselbeck, Pennington, Bulger, Volek...Bruce Gradkowski, Troy Smith, or Tyler Thigpen could be serviceable as well.
Personally, I hope in some way Pennington is brought in as a back-up because of his leadership skills. I posted this in another thread, but this is what I would do, Matt Flynn for a conditional 4th in 2012, sign Chad Pennington as a back-up, and draft Andy Dalton from TCU in round 3, bring Rusty into camp competing for the 3rd spot with Dalton. That still leaves our top 2 picks to upgrade the defense, and gives us two young QBs with potential, and a veteran leader in between them.
On a side note, VY is done here, but I will admit this franchise made a mistake not keeping McNair around for a few years and letting him sit and learn behind him. They had a great relationship and I think McNair could have helped him. I think things would have turned out differently if the franchise hadn't made that mistake. It is what it is though.

VY who? The only news I seem to find on the internet about VY is all negative; no trade value etc. Any positive news out there? Are any teams interested in VY?

Our ex coach wants him in Minnesota. He was his position coach here before switching to another position coach and finally leaving when the Fisher bailout began.

I've heard Miami and Minnesota are most likely if he's traded or released.

There's been negative things about Vince his entire career in the NFL. Even when he won rookie of the year there was a lot of negativity surrounding him (accuracy and mechanics).

Vince will get picked up and will more likely than not be starting for a team next year...if its not us due to the CBA and no viable options :D
