He won't throw in the NFL, either... how fitting.

Most top QB's don't throw at the combine. Doesn't drop them a whole round.

If you think a lot of scouts won't be at his pro day your kidding yourself.

It's common knowledge that most teams do not attend pro days. That's not to say that they won't watch video of a given pro day. If you're trying to sell yourself there is no better place than the combine because EVERY coaching staff is in attendance.

Non-story. It would be a bigger surprise if he said that he was throwing at the combine.

It makes sense from his perspective. I don't understand where all this Blaine Gabbert hate is coming from. People watch the three or so clips of him on YouTube, and they decide he sucks. Some of you don't even like him for the simple fact that you hadn't heard of him until a month ago. Ridiculous.

I just re-read "The Draft" by Pete Williams. While you are correct that there will be less people than at the combine, all sorts of coaches, GM's, scouts, etc go to pro days. Floyd Reese went to 25 pro days that year.

The book also talked about how Rothliesberger struggled a bit throwing at the combine the year before and fell behind Eli and Rivers, both of whom didn't throw.
