Where is VY? (all things Vince Young goes here)

yes that may be true, but how many of those "divas" you see quit on the team, throw their pads in the audience, throw tantrums in the side lines and cry.

He may be 30 something and 15 something but as I said in a previous post, majority of those wins were against sub .500 teams.

 

Quit saying he quit on his team. And 30-17 is a good record no matter who your playing against. And unlike some QB's, he was forced to start as a rookie.

If you want to bash him on the Skins incident ok, but don't bash his record or his stats THIS season.

 

I would think that most people don't have an exceptional record against winning teams. They are winning teams because they tend to not lose...

 

I didnt like having VY, cause every play on offense seemed like VY had to make a play himself to move the chains. I was having to cross my fingers on each snap hoping VY wouldnt run and get hurt, or throw an INT or throw into double coverage. With a good QB you tend to forget about him cause you know he is gonna do the right thing and you focus more on what the WR's and Te's are doing.

with VY you have to hope he is the one doing the right thing. Once we get a good QB and get that problem out of the way you'll see more attention and pressure put on the WR's and TE's.

Notice how new Colts WR's or TE's produces right away? its cause they have too! you cant blame poor play on Peyton. you either produce right away or you get benched then cut. thats the kind of system i hope we take on. Munchak said each player will be held responsible of their self. Our Wr's could easily blame Collins and VY for their screw ups.

 

How many players have I seen throw tantrums on the sidelines?? Hard to put a number on but here's a few that come to mind. T.O., Ocho, Manning, Brady,Marshall, Cutler, Favre..... the list could go on all day. The difference is Vince made his mistake in the locker room. However I can't say for a minute I blame the guy. You go to work for 5 years knowing your boss thinks your garbage and does everything to show you he thinks that short of actually growing a pair and saying it to your face, yea id probably blow up as well. Everyone has a breaking point.

Like I said, I don't love or hate the guy. But, the last 2 seasons alone were mode than enough for me to see how he was performing on the field. All I care about are wins. We didn't have many without him for the last 2 seasons. As for beating teams. 500 or better. It takes a team effort to do that. Im not sure if you watched the same team I did last year. But it was plenty obvious the majority of the team could care less. So hate on the guy all you want. Its just a little silly at this point. He's gone and trying to find a negative in everything he did here is foolish.

 

Keep saying that, you are supposed to beat the sub .500 teams, but GOOD QBs beat above .500 teams, which he did not and that says something else on how crappy he is. I will be glad VY signs and gets 3rd string for another team so you can leave CJthebust, always on that crappy QBs sac

 

That's probably because early on Vince DID have to make every play by himself. Remember? VY played without CJ most of his career and his #1 receiever has been Justin Gage. We were a run 1st offense who only threw on 3rd and long and ran a pretty predicatable offense. Usually he only had 1-2 options on the plays where he did pass and his receivers could never get open.

It wasn't until '08 that Nate Washington was brought in and just recently have we actually had a true receiving corps. VY wasn't as accurate as he is now, but he didn't get any help from talent being around him.

If you look at this past season, Vince was far from a liability. He three picks in 9 games. 2 came in 1 game against the Steelers and the other came in a last minute desperation heave.

The Colts have Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Pierre Garcon, and 2-3 other receivers who could be #2 guys on most teams. The offense is built to pass and they are very efficient at it (don't get me wrong, VY is definetely no Manning and never will be).

The thing is, people hang too much on VY's past and forget about what he was last year (current VY). He's not innacurate, he has a great deep ball, he can make reads, and his short and mid game has greatly improved. He's a mobile pocket passer.

The thing is that we don't have a QB. Kolb, Orton, and McNabb are our best options and I don't honestly believe any of them can lead us to a championship. VY proved his worth this season. It was the off the field issue that brought him down. Everybody loves to bash Vince but the reality is that with him we have our QB question mark answered and we know we have the potential of a #1 scoring offense (we had it last year).

Our best chance of winning a Super Bowl next year is if Munch lets VY live out his contract. Point blank.

And to the "Rational Response Squad", show me a better QB on the market and I'll retract my statement.
