This is not a bad idea at all...The Packers actually did this a few years ago with Brian Brohm and Matt Flynn....The Panthers did it last year with Clausen and Tony Pike. On a side note, I don't see Collins being brought back now that both Fisher and Dinger are gone. The main reason for bringing him back was the CBA and him knowing the system. That doesn't come into play anymore.

This might be one of the craziest drafts ever (uncertain future, not one great QB prospect, free agency and trades in question, etc.) I can see a lot of picks being traded which makes me think maybe one QB goes in the top 10 and the rest sorta fall later on and the teams that passed on the QB in the first will trade up to late 1st or early 2nd and grab one then. It's up to the Titans if they feel confident enough take a risk.

I like McElroy (no bias, just watched a lot of his games) and to me he's the smartest QB in the class and is a great decision maker. The offense he was under was very similar to ours last year so anything near the same is a bonus. Very accurate, can move in the pocket some, but he just doesn't have a strong arm. Like I've said before Ponder is just a McElroy 2.0 but with injury issues. I rather draft someone like Kaepernick or Locker in the 2nd/3rd then get McElroy in the 6th.

If Collins doesn't come back, which I would also think not, then we need to have quite a few options available. Think back when the Bucs drafted Freeman a couple years ago or the Panthers/Packers draft when they drafted a couple.

Also heard a rumor about Flynn, trading a 4th for him wouldn't be bad and my ideal situation would be...

Flynn-high potential to be a good QB and could be a quick fix until the next draft or when someone else beats him out

Locker/Kaepernick-Locker would take less time but Kaep has a higher ceiling. Flynn would be a quick fix while one of these guys learns the playbook and gets the much needed improvement in their game during practice, pre-season, etc.

Smith- Not the most impressive when on the field but also a terrible situation. I still think he could be a decent QB just needs some work.

McElroy- smarts, accuracy, and great decision making. Besides an arm what else do you need from a pocket QB? Could beat out Smith right away and be the #3.

Yep he did...Gabbert and Newton will likely be the only 2 QBs go in round 1, although I would not be shocked to see Seattle take Locker. I think Gabbert goes to Zona, Titans, or Washington....and Newton goes to the Vikings, Dolphins, or Jags....

With the real chance that Locker, Ponder, Mallett, and Kaepernick are all on the board in round 2, I would much rather wait until then as I don't have a big game between then and Gabbert/Newton, especially when you're talking about all needing to sit and learn for 2 years..

Football isn't that complex, it's still the same game most have been playing for years. But I do want a smart guy quarterbacking this team (Ponder, McElroy ). Smart people in general know enough to go outside the box when things don't go accordingly. Athletic QB's will always use what has gotten them to where they are, over and over til one day it stops working (Locker, Kaepernick). I think Mike Vick illustrates this better than anyone. Vick ran into trouble, and instead of revisiting that, he opted to learn the game a little better. Now look at the guy. It is nice to have a QB be able to get out of trouble and buy time (Big Ben, Aaron Rodgers), so our next guy needs a decent set of wheels.

Exactly, which is why I keep going back to Christian Ponder...he brings the best of both worlds....mobile, smart, accurate...the knocks on him is his arm strength and injuries... I am hoping they bring in an OC who runs the west coast (Callahan), has he would be perfect for that type of system....think Rich Gannon type...

I think C.J. would benefit from a West Coast offense more than anyone. It might take away a few runs of his, but it should open things up for him & his blazing speed.

Yep, he would just have to work on his hands some...I am a huge fan of the west coast, we just have to get the right QB to run it.
