Still think the Titans are going QB. I expect a pick that we all think is a reach. Probably just Gabbert or Locker at #8.

I agree we are going QB. We have to IMO, despite the lackluster options. But I wouldn't be surprised if we trade down and grab one instead of staying at 8.

For all those dying for Luck, I get it. I would love to snag him in the '12 draft as much as anyone. But we have to be realistic here. He will go first overall and I just don't see us being in a position to get him. My money is on us being bad. But not first overall pick bad. Sure it could happen but it's a huge roll of the dice to say the least. I don't think we can pass on a QB in this draft in hopes that everything falls perfectly where we can get Luck in '12.

We also have to remember how huge of a commodity Luck is going to be. Say we end up picking 5th overall in 2012. Are we even going to be able (or have the desire) to outbid everyone else in need of a QB to move up to that #1 spot and take him? Knowing this organization, I seriously doubt it.

I think the Titans hold off on a QB in the 1st round. Mallett and Locker are falling in the draft. I think the Titans will take Mallett, which I'm not huge on.. but it makes sense. Mallett and KC have similar play styles.. re-sign KC for a year and have Mallett sit for a year. I think we could get lucky and get Mallett in the 2nd.

Here's all the teams that MIGHT take a QB before us in the 2nd:

3 or 34 - Bills, Bills have Fitz - not sure why'd they take a QB.
4 or 35 - Bengals, Palmer wants out rumored.. possible QB.
5 or 38- Cardinals, They have no QB.
7 - 49ers, Harbaugh is rumored to like Alex Smith... plus his main man Luck could go pro next year
10 - Redskins, rumored to like Locker and Ponder
12 - Vikings, need a QB.. but they have other options
15 - Dolphins, Henne has struggled.
    16- Jaguars, Garrard is old.
25 - Seattle, Hasselbeck is a FA. They did just trade alot for Whitehurst last year.

    What I see happening:
Bills get no QB. Bengals will pick up a young FA to try to teach, and keep Palmer. Cardinals take Gabbert #1 overall. 49ers give Alex Smith one more year, maybe take a QB later. Redskins take Ponder in the 2nd round/3rd round, try to improve other positions in the draft first. Vikings get McNabb or Kolb. Dolphins stick with Henne. Jaguars take Cam Newton 1st round. Seattle may take Locker, or stick with what they have.

Seriously why draft Gabbert, Newton or Locker at 8, hell why even trade down a bit and draft them later in the first? Both Luck and Barkley are better than any QBs in this draft, I'd rather us shore up the D and get one of those guys in 2012. Even if we had to start KC or even Rusty, they'd both be better than throwing a rookie in there. I'm a fan for the long haul, and I just don't see any of this years QBs becoming franchise QBs, especially Gabbert... dude only threw 16 TD's this year out of a spread offense, LOL. Why not let the many other teams in need of QB help (S.F., Carolina, Buffalo, Washington, Seattle) all of them draft these questionable QBs this year, that way they'd be far less inclined to draft ones in 2012. Our chances of getting Luck or Barkley would improve greatly.

I see what you're saying. My thing though is that there's no guarantee we are going to be in a position to draft one of the top QBs in 2012. And it really is all a crapshoot anyway. Who knows.... one of the 2011 QBs could end up being a better pro than Luck or anyone else in the 2012 draft (it's possible, perhaps not likely). At one time Matt Leinart was looked at as a "can't miss" franchise QB and look how that turned out.

I'm not denying that there is a legitimate case to be made against each and every one of these 2011 QBs. I'm just one of those people who believes that when you need a franchise QB and are in a position to take one (or a guy who could potentially be one) you have to take the shot.

If the front office doesn't feel like any of these guys are worth a 1st round pick then that's a different story entirely. But I just don't think you pass on a guy just because you wanna try to get a "better" rookie next year.

I rather take a risk for next year then draft a crap QB this year.

In 1983 the Houston Oilers signed Warren Moon, a large, athletic QB with a big arm.

In 1995 (one full season after Moon left Houston) the Oilers grab Steve McNair, a large, atheletic QB with a big arm.

In 2006 the Titans draft Vince Young, a large, athletic QB with a big arm.

IDK who we are going to draft but I think he will be a large, athletic QB with a big arm.

I'm not saying its a good move or not but based on the last three "franchise" quarterbacks the Titans have acquired it would seem that that the Titans will either grab Newton in the first or Kaepernick in the 2nd/3rd.
