There is no 'maybe' or 'little' to it. Fisher is a joke.

It should be very disturbing to anyone who cares about this team about how out of touch this portrays Fisher as.

I'm sure there is a lot we don't know and never will but I would not be surprised if Fisher was totally blind to how Washburn felt about Cecil.

For all we know, Wash was contacted by Philly the morning after the Titans final game. Knowing he had no contract from the Titans on the table and knowing Fisher was likely to either be fired or become a lame duck, he seriously considered the offer made to him by the Eagles.

In respect, Wash goes to Fisher and discusses it. Fisher can't make any promises because he doesn't know where he stands. Fisher may have asked what he could do to keep Wash which may have led to the future of the Titans defense, personnel, Cecil, etc.

I can't imagine Washburn as the type to get in Fisher's face and demand he fire Cecil or he would bail. I do think he probably asked Fisher if any changes would be made at DC. If Fisher told him he didn't plan on making any changes, Washburn may have never said anything to Fisher out of loyalty and just decided to move on.

Fisher only fires Cecil after Wash leaves and he finds out Cecil was a big reason for it. I can imagine he's talking to all his coaches now and McGinnis and Robertson told him the player's feeling about Cecil which played into the firing.

All total speculation by me but I bet Munch is being courted heavily by the Texans as I type this.

Its a great idea, but it will never happen. He isnt going to leave the steelers to come to Nashville for a 1 year deal and a lot of question marks. Maybe in a year or 2 but there's no chance he leaves Pittsburgh to join the Titans in 2011.

In my opinion, any coaching position on the Titans is not going to be filled by any "up and comer". we are only going to attract people who are looking to repair their image with a solid year of work hoping it turns into more opportunities. Basically perceived "washed up" coaches. That, or we get a lot of "in house" promotions" and they hire some young coaches to fill the bottom level positions.

Most position coaches would leave to accept a team's DC job, most of them want that opportunity, and usually good D-coordinator jobs do not open up, for good reason.

I think this analysis is spot on. I also think Fisher has lost control of this team, inside the locker room at least. The media still believes he can do wonders, but I am officially convinced he is the Jeff Van Gundy of NFL head coaching. Most of the fans will eventually regret the decision to keep Fisher around, regardless of VY, Bud probably wont because hes too senile at this point, but he will never get to another superbowl. With the way this offseason has started, I would be shocked if the Titans won more than 5 games next year. I'm a very bitter ex-titans fan, but do appreciate the site TitanJeff.

He's gone! That's a great move by Fisher.

This makes the Washburn exit a little easier to swallow. It feels like we're starting from scratch on defense and that could be a very good thing. It just didn't feel like we ever adjusted well after halftime and we were being out played and out coached as a result. Perhaps this is a good thing for us.

Restructure VY's deal and draft all defense. Draft a SS, DE, and OLB and we're set.

    Oh yea, and fire Fisher.
