If I were him, I'd come back to school. Money clearly isn't his motivator....and I'm sure he'll still do fine in that department. Let's say he only earns $150 million as opposed to $200 million in his pro career. Is that a difference that is going to change how he lives his life?

I could use an extra 50 million, since he's willing to throw it away.

 Thank you. I have yet to see a real valid reason given.

What if he gets career injured and never plays in the NFL?

There isn't much reason. He could get the big money as the #1 overall pick, play for 5 years or so, even suck, and be set for life. Plus, he's smart, so he'll make money after football in whatever he chooses to do. Not much reason to stay. You can't get much higher than the #1 pick.

Classic example of "A bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush."

That he can get anytime later in life.

So the prestige that comes with the most overrated award in football is worth in the tens of millions?

Is it worth in the tens of millions for a chance at a nat title?

Is it worth in the tens of millions just to not get drafted by them?

It's obvious you don't have any if you don't see the difference in tens of millions. There is a HUGE difference between having say 20 million and 50 million.

Only valid reason given in this thread by you and TorontoTitanFan.

Still, it's a gamble to base everything on that.

By far the dumbest comments in this thread come from TitansErick and I'm not surprised. Yeah he's gonna stay because it's stanford instead of the SEC. What an :moon2::clown: you are.

What if Bill Gates had felt the same way and decided to stay in Harvard instead of wrting BASIC for the Altair? And Gates who was from a somewhat wealthy family didn't have millions wating for him he and Paul Allen had to move to New Mexico and ran their company from a sleezy motel.

I know Luck probably has a million dollar Llyods of London policy in case he has a career ending injury but it does seem like a dumb move on his part especially with his head coach not being there.

check that almost the whole coaching staff will not be there. They are with the niners.

The difference can be much more than that. A rotator cuff injury could threaten his whole career and cost him everything. The difference between a top 3 pick and the 3rd pick in the 2nd rd is about 4 or 5 to one in contract value. Maybe more.

I respect his right to make that decision but it is not one i would make.

No way in hell Stanford wins a national title. They came as close as they ever will come this season.

Stanford is probably the finest school in the country if not the English speaking world. My apologies to Harvard but all the tech inovations have come from there. Cisco, Zerox and invention of the mouse interface, google and facebook. Even the Apple guys had Stanford connections even if they were never students there. Steve Jobs lives next to the University. It is a very special place i will concede that.
