How bogus was that? Oregon got a RAW DEAL. To have a great game end like that sickens me. What a dumb rule, if anyone hits that runningback and he IS down its a late hit 15 yard penalty.

Rule shoud be changed, ball should have been dead.

agreed... the defender doesnt know if hes down and if he tries to throw him down again after hes already thrown down the ball handler... its an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. The defense is in a no win situation. They can call a ball carrier down when a gang of defenders gang up on him but not put him on the ground... but when a ball carrier is wrapped up and the defender can't tell if hes on the ground, he's suddenly not down? Put a skirt on the QB and p!ss all over the defense.

Well that was one play the refs actually got correct.

I'd rather complain about the ignored interception, facemask, horse collar and delay of game penalties that won the game for Auburn.

Oh by the books they got it right... But you see my point... If the defender doesnt know if he got the guy down... so he goes to throw him down again to make sure... If he got him down the first time, but was unsure, then goes to throw him down again...it would be a 15 yard penalty for a personal foul. It really puts the defense in a bad spot and its a cheap play.

Any other time the refs just blow the whistle too fast there anyway. Not tonight.

I didn't have a major problem with the officiating. The missed tackle was kind of a lame ending though. I mean he gets all the yards on a barely missed tackle when Oregon thought the play was over. I do blame Oregon for lack of execution but it wasn't a very thrilling finish, after that fluky play you knew it was over.

I thought the officiating was fine. Dyer certainly was not down, and it was the correct call. Oregon got a break on an obvious offensive pass interference call that was missed, and also a legal break where the Auburn defender was picked by the ref that lead to Oregon's last TD. But other than the pass interference, the other calls were correct, just more or less bad breaks. Auburn dominated that game but just never closed it out, but there were no terribly bad calls that decided that game what so ever.

That play was kind of fluky, but also a correct call, so I agree with you. The refs didnt factor into this game, and it is sour grapes for anyone to say so.

No question it was the right call.

Its just a dumb rule. If your laying own on top of a defender, you should be down.
