If Mallet's recievers didn't drop easy catches Arkansas wins by 10, the pick was a great defensive play and if anything the game last night made me want Mallet in a titans uniform more than i did before. I'd almost rather have him than Luck, because of the speed of SEC defenses being much closer to the NFL than those in the PAC-10

NCAA as a whole has shifted toward VY-type QBs, very few true QBs anymore.. I really don't see that changing any time soon so the level of QB play is probably going to shift in the NFL in a few years..

Yet look at the better QBs in the league. Movement helps but making the right read and accuracy trump it.

I doubt it. There will always be slow QBs. Just 30 years ago, VY/Troy Smith/Randle El would have been playing a different position.

It's not as if good passers who are slow will stop getting scholarships or draft picks.

You guys missed my point. The college shift for making mobile QBs running spread/options etc is going to leave the NFL teams with fewer and fewer "true" QBs in the future. If the college teams aren't training QBs to run NFL-style offenses, then the NFL's "prototype" QB is bound to change.. just look at the last few years, and the future upcoming years and tell me how many pocket QBs that are LEGIT there are.

The focus on spread QBs for the college game is affecting the selection for NFL teams, is my point. Some here were saying "well look at next year's draft".. well get used to it, college teams are not in demand for traditional style QBs and so the talent entering the draft is hindered as a result.

I didn't watch the whole game but from what I saw his WR's didn't help him at all. He needs to work on his foot work badly.

Agreed, his WR's had five drops on their own, the first came on Arkansas' first possession that should have been a TD and I believe there was another drop TD catch as well. Mallett can throw a great deep ball.
