I kind of agree with that. I question if it would have become much worse as the season progressed.

Most of what you think you know about Vince's toughness comes from Fisher not playing him. He was obviously ready in the Miami game. He said he wanted to play. He was still hurt when he played, but he played well. The fact that you're questioning his toughness over an incident where he was trying to get back in the game and the coach wouldn't let him is what is so asinine, however. I thought it was pretty amazing that he came back after his knee injury in Jacksonville. Yeah, there have been times you could question his toughness, but bringing it up in this argument is pretty stupid.

Alright doc, explain how the other two fingers take pressure off the middle finger while throwing a football. You can't throw a football any more effectively with Collins's injury than Young's. We've all seen Collins try to grip the ball with his middle finger on top of his index and ring finger bunched together. This is the only way he can throw without so much pain, but he throws it like hell that way. So explain how this is more effective. If Vince had his thumb completely taped up, he could still grip ball to his thumb with his four fingers, which means he could still use the entire span of his hand while throwing the ball.

If VY had played, I wonder how well he could have taken a snap. Especially after playing 6 weeks.

I clearly stated his well documented body of work has led me to believe he is far from an iron man. Not that this one scenario is the end all be all when it comes to his injuries. So it completely applies to this conversation.

I'm not a doctor so you don't need to refer to me as doc anymore. I also didn't base my comments on Collins having perfect accuracy with his finger injury, I said that i believe that a thumb injury, whether taped or not, would be much more difficult to grip and throw than a middle finger injury. Let alone the potential fumble problems from either a taped or non-taped thumb.

In light of yesterdays results I need to give someone in this thread credit for being spot on about Jay Cutler.

Fisher and VY both need to go. It's to the point you can't trust either of them. Maybe Fisher kept him out because he was hurt or he just doesn't like him. Maybe VY wanted to go back in but would've pulled himself out if he couldn't throw right. So who knows...

Of course Vince would've pulled himself out if he couldn't throw. Would you want him to stay in and risk losing the game for us?
