I think Mallet was tried to be as overhyped as Stafford was.

Stafford looked extremely mediocre in college. He just had a big arm. I think people are finally looking beyond being able to throw the ball 70 yards from their knees.

Mallet has been praised for pretty much the same reasons. Big arm. What else? Ehh...Size? lol

Other than being injury prone I think Stafford has been a pretty good player. So yea I'd take Mallett if he turns out to be Stafford.

Ok. I could let your Singletary sig pass without saying much... but this?

    Really?

He completes almost 74% of his passes.

How'd he suck it up in the Rose Bowl? Because he didn't put up gaudy numbers?

He was 12/21 for 159. And had 3 players drop perfect passes.

Compare that to the Rose Bowl MVP:

    15/23 for 219.

Amazing what a win can do for a guy.

Tolzien leads the NCAA in completion percentage. Vince Young... you serious??

  4. I think VY'll be our QB next year. (Sorry)
We need a BIG DT (Darells or Nick Fairley [who knows?? Could u see Morgan as a Titan?]), at least one LB that can make a tackle and cover, i like Casey Matthews and we can get him at 3rd. The second we can use with Center, QB or SS. I think!

Alabama 3-4 is more like a 4-3, but with a linebacker lining up on the blind side. Marcel plays on the edge, so I wouldnt worry to much.

Fairly is a little bit bus h league, he will probably make Finnegan look like a saint when he is here. If fisher stays, I assume we draft him.

Though what I would like to is draft Patrick Peterson, but thats probably wishful thinking.

If you are picking on talent, you gotta pick Julio Jones. He is another WR and we probably dont need him as much, however, he is bigger, faster, jumps higher, blocks better, and is all around more impressive in highschool than Kenny Britt is now. THAT is saying something, he is an insane physical speciman.

But if none are available, id consider trading down.

I'm not sold on Mallett necessarily, though I think has potential, but I agree. If Stafford can ever stay healthy he looks like he is going to be a pretty solid QB.

Stafford had one of the quickest releases, yet he still managed considerable zip on his passes. His accuracy was very underrated, because people would look at his completion percentage in college and naturally assume he was inaccurate (~58%). He was very good at leading his receivers, he placed the ball exactly where it needed to be. And, perhaps most important, he had great feet. He was nimble in the pocket. He could set his feet quickly and get rid of the ball.

Now, I'm not saying Mallett won't be good. I'm just saying that comparing him to Stafford isn't fair. Stafford was justifiably hyped since high school for reasons other than his arm strength. Their only similarity is that they both have strong arms.

Stafford is also supposedly extremely intelligent. I think people are looking at his injuries and declaring him a bust, but if he does get to a point where he stays healthy I think he has shown enough ability to think he will be a pretty solid pro QB. But the injury issues are unpredictable. Sam Bradford had far more injury concerns than Stafford out of college, and Bradford didnt miss a single snap this year, while Stafford had no injury issues, but has been hurt for a lot of his career thus far. But, Stafford has all kinds of ability, if he can just stay healthy.

He's the Kerry Collins of the NCAA. A game manager, not a playmaker.

His runningbacks spotted him 200+ yards on the ground and the dude still couldn't put points on the board. He threw an egg right to a defensive lineman on the most important play of his career. I wouldn't want this guy anywhere near my team in a crucial 4th quarter drive...

Yeah, because drops aren't a part of the game...

Unlike Tolzien, Dalton controlled the game. Every play pre snap he was making changes to the offense, noticing gaps in the defense that he took advantage of time and time again. Besides, no one here is saying Dalton is a good pro prospect or anything..

I really just don't want another master of the check down, game manager to ever suit up for the Titans again.

I think we should look QB in the draft also. However, if VY is our QB next season and we beef up our D and OLine in the draft and bring in a new HC...well... we could be VERY good. I'd rather start fresh with a new QB and HC but I wouldn't lose too much sleep if we got to see what VY could do with a coach who believed in him a little
