except he will be the first pick in 2012 as he has insinuated many times that he is not declaring this season.

The only option is a bit deceiving, but if we keep Vince, and pay him the 12.7 he is owed, there won't be much left to find a quality alternative. Fisher should be fired because of his record as a head coach. Rarely do you see a coach step in with a QB already in place and have success. 90% of the time they bring in their guy and get behind them. If we are talking about a franchise QB it would be different, but after 5 years in the NFL with 4 as a starter, there are very few that would consider VY a franchise QB. Now I'll admit that Bud may be one of those few, but we'll see how it plays out.

He has said that, but I want to see what he decides after Harbaugh leaves before I believe it. I'll be shocked if he stays and learns a new offense under a new coach, him and Harbaugh are very close from everything I have read.

Ask the Cowboys how they felt to let go of Tom Landry (an honest to god football genius) and bring in Jimmy Johnson.

Ask the Steelers how they felt to lose Bill Cowher and bring in Mike Tomlin.

Ask the Tampa Bay Buccaneers how they felt to let go of Tony Dungy and bring in Jon Gruden.

There is a far cry from going from staying with someone for 17 seasons and becoming a "revolving door" for head coaches. Who is to say we don't give the next coach 5-6 years to develop his scheme and implement his players? That seems like a reasonable amount of time, no?

When it comes down to it, I just don't trust our organization to find a good replacement coach that can come in and make an improving impact on the team.

Also, we have a small market team that is not in high demand for a new coach. Top that off with a team with no QB....

Very well said...and yes, that is plenty of time. I actually think the team would respond well to a different voice in the locker room. On a side note, I wasn't sure of the Tomlin hire at the time, but he has quickly become one of my favorite coaches. There are diamonds out there, you just have to uncover them. As I have said, change doesn't have to be a bad thing, and we can make the playoffs with a rookie coach, it happens every year.

Now we agree on something, because my gut tells me the same thing about our organization. I have a bad feeling Bud will hire someone like Wade Phillips or John Fox, or even Greg Williams, because he doesn't want to take a chance on a young up and comer. I hope his desire for a Super Bowl leads us to Gruden, but I don't see it.

I believe that Vince will get an opportunity to start for the Titans next season. I believe Bud Adams will want our next coach to give Vince Young an "audition" in 2011. I however don't believe that Young will be "forced" on any coach if he does not have on the field/ post season success in the 2011 season. Young's play (and read real closely there as I said his PLAY not his MATURITY) has improved to the point where any head coaching candidate would be a fools not to see if he can salvage his career and make something out of Young.

Also can we please stop insinuating that Young has cost Fisher his job. I believe that is the biggest urban legend on goTitans.com. Jeff Fisher having two six game losing streaks has cost him his job. Jeff Fisher not winning a Superbowl in seventeen years has cost him his job. Jeff Fisher not winning a playoff game since 2003 has cost him his job. Jeff Fisher being unwilling to go for it on 4-1 against the Colts has cost him his job. Jeff Fisher deciding to bring in Randy Moss and then completely ignore him has cost him his job. Jeff Fisher starting 'his favorites' as opposed to talented younger players has cost him his job. Jeff Fisher has done enough HIMSELF to warrant being released by the Titans; he didn't need Young's help to make it happen.
