What would it take to get Orton or Kolb?

I agree with everything you said. The player I want most in the draft is Nick Fairley, but he will be long gone before we pick. Assuming we lose tomorrow, there is a good chance we move into the top 10 and have a shot at Patrick Peterson or Prince Akukamara. A player with top 15 talent that is projected to slide into the middle of the 2nd is Marvin Austin. That would upgrade two levels of our D with playmakers.

 

Another player I'd look for if Fairley is off the board is Stephen Paea from Oregon State. Paea is a big (310+) defensive tackle the can penetrate the offensive line. There is also the chance that we could require Haynesworth for a 3rd or 4th round draft pick. Either way we would be have the much needed bulk on our defensive line with Jones bouncing out to DE and Morgan getting healthy.

After DT I believe our needs go as followed: LB, C/G, S

I agree about Stephen Paea, he's a beast. The reason I said Akukamara or Peterson is I like the combo of them with Marvin Austin better then Paea and whoever in round 2, just based on talent. Drafting based on need I would love to see us take Paea in round 1, with Bruce Carter (olb from UNC) in round 2. I should note that I am in noway a UNC fan, they just had a lot of dominant defensive players before all the suspensions, and a lot of them are falling in the rankings because of that so there is value there. Carter was not suspended, but he tore his ACL in November, so he could slide into the middle of round 2. If Paea and the corners are gone, I could see us taking Akeem Ayers in round 1, and going DT in round 2. Personally I think we have enough holes right now to just take best available throughout, but there are certain needs this team has and you pinpointed those well.

 

I think Andy Reid is a cool dude. He might just be like... Mike Vick youre my boy, i aint gunna franchise tag you man, i aint gonna do you like that. Go on and get that money.

Then we sign him to a 75mil contract and we win the superbowl, like the eagles are going to do this year with Mike Vick as their QB

 

Let me say that I LOVE Peterson and Akukamara and I believe both will turn out to be top 15 corner in the NFL. If we could trade for Haynesworth and grab one of those two in the first and then grab Carter in the second I believe our defense would rival and surpass the 2007/2008 defenses of the Titans. The problem is I don't think either player is going to be there when we pick.

Both the Cowboys and Lions will be picking before us and both of them have needs a corner. So while the thought of getting a potential shutdown corner is exciting (especially when your second would be Finnegan and w/ a ballhawk like Verner in nickle *drools*) but if we allow QB's to step up into the pocket it really won't matter how good our secondary would be. We would get shredded. We also need to consider the fact we need to replace 2/3 of our interior offensive linemen.

 

Annnndddd then you turn off Madden...

 

dont like either...kolb strikes me as a system type guy, not to mention he couldnt even beat us with collins at the helm this year with the eagles weapons, and orton is a whiney b itch

 

Not to pick but the EAGLES couldn't beat us with Kerry Collins at the helm. It isn't Kolb's fault that Kenny Britt was able to score 3TD's in one half of play.

Would would it take for everyone to realize neither of these two are the answer?
