It doesn't matter which one stays for next year, the one that stays will be gone before 2012. Fisher either stays and coaches a team without a quarterback and a talentless defense or VY stays and plays like garbage because he doesn't know the new system or is constantly hurt.

Next year is going to suck regardless.

Exactly what I'm saying. Just get rid of them both.

I wouldn't be opposed to that at all. Shame of it is I think this offense is a quarterback away from being top-tier. The defense is going to be awful no matter what, bit there is some serious talent at the skill positions on O.

Fisher could be fired for the simple fact that he's tried and failed for 16 years.

Supposing VY was mandated the starter, it wouldn't last long if the Titans start out on a losing streak and VY looks pitiful. If there is a better guy behind him, the better guy will play.

Some of you guys take The Tennessean's reporting to heart, to your detriment.

Bud mandated Vince on draft day and he mandated that Vince start after the team looked like trash for the first 6 games last year. Otherwise, he hasn't meddled much. You all got the idea that he has been a virtual Jerry Jones from the line that the Tennessean has been feeding it's faithful followers.

Think for yourselves, folks. Consider this:

Fisher's entire reputation is based on how much control he's had for the better part of 16 years with this organization. The two instances where he was over-ruled (by his boss of all people, oh the horror ) in 16 years do not make him the victim of a radical owner.

His lack of success is largely on his own head. Vince Young has been ruining Fisher's Super Bowl chances (I laughed heartily as I typed that. As if!) for less than 33% of Fisher's time here...

    but believe what you will/want.

Problem is VY was mandated to be picked/play when he plays the most important position on the field. He wasn't picked because he was the best quarterback available, but because he won the owner's favorite college football team a national title and was from Houston.

Fact of the matter is Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers should have been a Titan.

I honestly think you're being ignorant if you think Bud is going to pay Vince $14 million and let the new coach bench him after a few losses. You seem to think that Vince is just another player on our 53, when that's not the case at all. He is at the core of our "situation" right now, and the owner has his back.

    Goodness, guy!!! Think!!!

Has Vince Young played in every game he's been healthy for?

    Dios mio!

    It's frustrating, really.

If we go 0-6 and VY looks like trash, there will be no fight against replacing him, especially with a new coach coming and needing to put his stamp on the team.

Fisher was not the victim of some control-freak owner. You lose five or six in a row and you make a change. It's done and over with already. Let it go and stop being childish.

Bud will let whoever he hires coach the team. VY might get the nod at the beginning of the season due to that contract, but the season isn't gonna go down the toilet just because Bud wants to marry VY.

The best QB on the roster will be starting by the end of the season and before playoffs are out of reach.

    Stop being silly.

It's going to be a very interesting offseason for the Titans to say the least.

Wow, I didn't realize I was being silly. Sorry about that, I'll stop. All I said was that Bud will want VY to start next season. That's enough to keep certain coaching candidates away from us. I never said anything about an 0-6 start or Bud being a control freak. No need to get riled up. For some reason, I can just see you staring at your computer red faced, building up a sweat. Calm yourself, it's better for your blood pressure.

    I'm not upset at all.

Actually, I should be getting off to sleep but instead I'm entertaining myself by writing out these fantastically well-written posts(if I do say so myself) when I should just say ZOMG STFU!!!!

Seriously though, no coach is gonna say, "I'd love to take this job but the idea of Vince Young scares me."

Any coach we get is gonna take the flyer on VY just because he's already here. Even if that coach is mandated to give Young a tryout for the first few games, should he look awful, the season will not be thrown away just for the sake of having him on the field.

He sat out games in 2008 because Fisher felt Collins was better and the team was on a roll, did he not?

You're saying Young is going to somehow scare this great coach we're gonna get away by being on the roster. In that respect, you are being very silly.

I mean, I understand that you think Young be off the team and that's fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It's just that you're not making any sense.

    I'll repeat myself:

The best QB on the roster will be playing when things get serious.

Vince Young WILL get the opportunity to screw the pooch.

    However,

Bud will not mandate Vince Young starts unless he plays at the same level or better than the competition.

    Now, I will say this:

If you think that there is a coach out there who's gonna tell Bud "I don't want to give Vince Young a shot," then you are probably right; that guy won't be coaching here.

However, what coach would do that?

Why would a coach take options off the table before exploring them?
