So you're telling me coaches win percentages go up when they have elite QBs? :)

But seriously, why do people always have to resort to chopping or twisting stats and hypotheticals when defending Fisher? There's no way of knowing what Belichick's record over the past 10 years would be without Brady. Sure it wouldn't be as good. But would it be worse than Fisher? Who knows? I doubt it though.

It's not like Fisher has never had a good QB. McNair was a league MVP for god's sake. Do we take the good years with McNair out of Fisher's win percentage? Do we hold having a good QB against him? Didn't think so.

And are you really saying Belichick isn't a genius? You think Tom Brady won those Super Bowls all by his lonesome? I understand Belichick didn't have a good record in Cleveland. But sometimes new head coaches have to go through a growing period much like a player making the transition from college to pro. Plus we're talking about Cleveland here.

Philip Rivers is having a much better season than both Manning and Brees.

Rivers beats Peyton every time they face, so why not consider him better at this point in each player's career?

Belichick is the greatest coach ever. People credit Parcells for teaching him, but if you look at his record, he never did anything without Belichick. Belichick's defensive game plan from Super Bowl XXV is in the Hall of Fame!

Co-MVP. One time. Fisher has never had an elite QB. McNair was a good QB, but in the big picture, not even in the same conversation as Brady or Manning.
He faded out too quickly because of injuries (his playing style) to ever become what others did.

Look at Fisher's win percentage with McNair. Look at it without McNair. Hilarious.

Dozens of coaches could have won a Super Bowl with #9 and #27 on their team.

Thank You. Fisher is not a great football coach. I will say that he has done a great job of running the business. Bud is making tons of money, Fisher is making tons of money, and in business that's really all that matters. But as far as getting Ws and Ls and football know-how, Fisher is below average.

Argue that he hasn't had an elite QB like Belichick or Dungy so he's done a great job with what he has. Haven't heard that before. :rolleyes:That doesn't hold up when Fisher is the one in charge of personnel, coaching staff included.

The stats you should be pulling up are the coaches who have success despite not having an elite QB.

    There really aren't many.

Gruden and Billick are the only two I can think of.

Of course he isn't. But Bradys and Mannings don't grow on trees. My point was that McNair was good enough to be a league (co)MVP. He was no scrub. Sure he's not gonna be in any greatest of all-time discussions but not many coaches get the luxury of having a QB of that caliber. And excusing Fisher's mediocrity by saying "well he doesn't have a guy like Brady or Manning" is absurd.

You don't need a great QB to win a freaking Super Bowl, don't pull that rubbish out again. Chuck Noll won with the dumbest man quarterbacking any team. Terry Bradshaw is only considered good because of his wins, much like Vince Young. Fisher sucks, that's why he's ringless. NEXT.

Oh and also, who else has 4 rings besides Noll? He did it all with an inbred idiot QB. Fisher is a joke.

You are on a roll today brotha! Tell em! I don't get how people keep wanting to defend this guy. He's a great coach because he's never had an elite QB yet without McNair and Vince his record is a joke.

Just because he's the longest tenured coach in the league does not make him great. He's had the benefit of working for the most loyal owner in football. It's clear that this post and those fueling it are still hung up on Fisher-VY still.

Well deny all day long just how average a coach Fisher is and proclaim that Vince sucks. That's fine with me. Still doesn't change the fact that Vince saved Fisher's job last year. And how does this ingrate repay him, he benches him against Pitt and sits him against Miami. Good riddance, I won't miss you one bit.
