you can only move the safety to somewhere in his zone. Scaife was the option and it worked fairly well.

It certainly looked that way. But we can't know for sure, so I don't know why anyone is arguing about it. Yes, VY's head looks like its following Scaife the entire play, but none of us have any idea what his eyes are doing, and I Know for a fact VY's eyes are almost constantly active in the pocket. Wouldn't surprise me the least bit if he saw Britt and released a dime to him..

I love VY as much as the next guy but that was all Kenny Britt on that one. The throw may or may not have been intended for Kenny but who gives a s..+? it was a TD no matter how you slice it. Credit it to luck if you want but I give it up to Kenny for beating the coverage and making a great catch.

Vince gets way too much credit when he does well and he also gets way too much s..+ when he messes up. He's better than at least half of the starting QBs in the league right now. He's not spectacular as a passer and he may never be that but at least now he's got a guy like Kenny to throw to and Nate can ball too. He got his grown man on this weekend, that TD catch against double coverage and pass interference was legitimizing.

If you ask me Vince becomes a better passer as the game rolls on. That AZ game where he threw for 300 yards was not just a fluke. The kid can ball. But he is a habitual phuck3r-upp3r so I can see why some don't trust him. I believe in him though. We'll see what he's really made of. Because it's do or die for him here in TN.

Vince has a cannon for an arm... if you receivers were faster he wouldn't have to hang it up as much. If Jenkins hadn't been interfering most of the day he would most likely have had over 200 yards with another TD.

This arguement and all the previous arguements everyone else is making are lame bacause you have to:

    1. prove VY didn't see Britt (he could have seen him in his perifferal vision/as his head turned toward britt).
    2. prove VY didn't know where Britt was. Because for it to have been an accident VY couldn't have known Britt was going to be there (VY understands where his guys are going to be because of designed routs)
    3. prove that the play wasn't designed that way (the play might have been designed for VY to look at Bo, to look off the defenders and then at the last second throw to where Britt is going to be,)

The TD was caught for a touchdown (which was the intent of the play) thus you have to disprove all three of the above points before you can say it was an accidental TD. If you can't do it (which you can't) then shut up about it. You're wrong admit it. You can't prove anyone of those points so stop trying too. You can have the opinion that it was a accident but that doesn't make it reality. Just saying something happened doesn't make it true you have to have actually proof and disprove the alternative.

    To say A causes B

    You have to prove

    A happened before before B
    A corralates with B
    And discount C

    You can't discount C.

I don't have to prove that the play was intentional because the burden of proof is on you. The intention of the play was to score a touchdown, that happened. You say his intention was to "throw to Bo" but since it went to Britt YOU have to prove that it wasn't intended for Britt and thus YOU have to prove that the three points above are true. But since proving those points is frankly impossible, because you'd have to know what VY was thinking, his knowledge of the play, his intent, and how the play is designed in the first place, then you are completely and utterly wrong in your assumptions and your arguement doesn't hold weight.

Show me some real proof then I might agree with you.

Let it go, dude. People are gonna take the TOUCHDOWN how they want to take it, sad as that is.

I mean, even if it was unintentional, it's not the first lucky TD for Vince, nor is it the last and it's not the first or last lucky TD for all quarterbacks this year.

Let it go guys, honestly, it's poor sportsmanship.

He's not your guy...and so what? It was still a TD, unintentionally or not.

"It was a TD, but he didn't mean to do it." = :blah: :stirpot: :dead2:

From what I can tell, Vince threw up a pass that missed Scaife and hit Britt for a touchdown without being touched by a defender. It made me do a happy dance.

Unfortunately, positive plays from Vince Young don't elicit the same feeling of elation in some other people....too tough for them. It's best they get a life.

    Go Titans and Go VY!

"If you don't like it then you can giiiit out!"--country dude from South Park

By the way, VY has a 3-1 TD to INT ratio...best he's ever had at any point point in his career. HOORAY for progress!

It wasn't just the throws, it was the uncertianty of what he was seeing. Many times he would just hold the ball with that deer in headlights look. I do not think he had an idea about what he was seeing.

The problem with any VY conversation is there is no middle ground. If you point out something less than stellar the apologists come out of the wood work... If you give him credit the bashers are ready for war.

I'll just say this and will never engage in another VY related conversation... if that play was executed as it was drawn up... We have zero to worry about and we will win the division because our passing game to me is the biggest questions mark. I hope and pray he was intending to go to Britt.

Some one mention it in here it seems it was the same play from the Giants game here what Vy and Fish had to say.

Vince Young says wide receiver Kenny Britt was indeed his intended target on the 12-yard touchdown pass that gave the Titans a 17–3 lead over Dallas last week.

CBS analyst Phil Simms said immediately after the play that he believed Young was actually throwing for tight end Bo Scaife, and that Young was fortunate to have the ball drop into Britt’s hands behind Scaife.

    Not so, says Young.

``For the record, I was throwing to Kenny,’’ Young said. ``Most of the time there’s one safety (in the area) and we’re not supposed to get that back part of the end zone. But I looked at Bo, so he could come up so I could get that throw.

``Everybody’s askin’ me that, but that was pretty much the read. (Offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger) gave me a good (compliment) about that because he knows how I use my eyes, but he’d never seen me use my eyes like that before.’’

Titans coach Jeff Fisher backed up his quarterback.

``I knew the play call,’’ Fisher said. ``The design is to go over Bo. It was the same one he threw in New York. The same exact play. Throw over Bo, based on the coverage. Bo holds the coverage and it goes to Kenny in the back of the end zone.

``I don’t think Phil saw practice, nor did we have a production meeting with him outside a conference call we had on Tuesday. Granted he probably watched some tape, but he must not have watched the Giants game.’’
