True. Here's a good article on how the waiver wire works:

So the Titans are 16th (I assume) in line for Blount if he is released. I don't know if Denver is ahead or behind that. But let's assume there are a number of other teams who might need a power RB on the roster. It's risky.

We also have to keep in mind that the Titans might target a LB or S over Blount.

Also, do other teams take on a "troubled" player that some may think Blount may be?

Also, the Titans might put Thornton on the PUP and that'll give the Titans more opportunity to keep both Gado and Blount.

The thing is, WE need a power running back. I think Blount has a decent chance of making the team despite Gado getting all the early looks. I haven't been overly impressed with Blount, but when it's third and one, would you rather have Gado or Blount? Furthermore, I wouldn't be all that shocked to see both make the team and Pearman be the odd man out, who's no longer needed for his return abilities. We've carried more than three RB's before because of special teams. That could be the case this year as well.

I wish there were more P.Hillis, Leron McClain, and Greg Jones type players out there, that serve as a good, powerful running back, and good blockers. Because Hall is just a blocker, but a good one.

There are rumors that Greg Jones may get cut. Jacksonville may not want to pay his salary.

I haven't heard from him in a while, because I don't care about the Jags at all, but he used to be very good. He was always in MJDs shadow, but he was good in his own right.

I would think Fisher would love to have a player like him. Especially since he is a total change of pace.
But Jeff is right, CJ is the team at this point, we live and die with him.

Sometimes yeah, but there are two downsides to this. Number one, the beating our star RB takes on those plays. Number two, his propensity for getting stuffed. Unless I'm mistaken, he led the league in negative plays last season. I mean, we all know about the great season he had last season, but a negative play on third and one is a drive killer. I'd love to have a guy that the defense knows is going to take the couple yards he needs to get the first down and won't be stopped. It's demoralizing. Blount's vision sucks, but it takes a lot of players to bring him down. On the other hand, there may end up being better options out there. I just think it would be good to have a RB/FB in his mold, if not him.

I like the way you think. CJ is a Homerun hitter, but he's also likely to strike out. Luckily more home runs than the alternative. CJ is the definition of all or nothing. I would like to have a dependable short-yardage back.

That's what you don't get in the YPC statistic. It doesn't factor in consistency. Thomas Jones had 4.2 YPCs, and CJ had 5.6. But who would be more consistent in gaining 3-4 yards when you need it? Jones. I wish we could have gotten him in FA to spell CJ.

But anyway, CJ is in a league all his own. It would be nice to have another reliable RB so we could do more fun stuff with CJ like putting him out wide, and still have a running threat. But results speak for themselves.

If he gets stuffed, it's because he's running into the backside of Sarge. I think Fisher's thoughts are on third-and-two, CJ gives them more options. Blount isn't going to be able to turn the corner like CJ could. Defenses know Blount isn't as likely to bust one for 85 yards.

If CJ isn't going to be the that player, Ringer will be. Blount is learning the blocking schemes which means teams will run blitz him all day knowing they are not likely to pass.

I do think there will be a day Fisher will want Blount just for short-yardage and goal line situations but I don't think that is this season. JMO.
