First of all everyntime we have these discussions, arguments, posters think they are making their point by putting down one guy while they make the other guy sound like Superman. Maybe Ringer AND Blount are going to be good. The bottom line is we simply don't know. What little Ringer has played he has looked pretty good. To say otherwise is stupid. Blount hasn't played against real competition in a game yet and we have him practically pushing CJ for the starting role based on some posts.

As a Titans fan I've come to expect NOTHING from a rookie. Unless he's handed a starting spot, rookies are nearly useless in Tennessee. With that said, I'm waiting on Ringer, Cook, and McCourty. It's you guys year, do something!

Useless? Totally untrue. That argument doesn't hold water anymore and you know it.

Okay, well what rookies last year contributed besides Britt? Mouton contributed to several losses. The rest of the 2009 picks were useless. Marks nothing, McCourty nothing, Cook nothing, Ringer nothing.

Cortland Finnegan, Jacob Ford, Gerald McGrath, Jason Jones, Michael Griffin, Vince Young, Ahmard Hall, Bo Scaife, Chris Johnson, Steven Tulloch... We've had some contribution from rookies. Depends on their development more than anything. Furthermore, it simply takes time for some players to adjust. For others, it's more about the guys in front of them. Did you really expect Ringer to take carries away from Chris Johnson?

Stephen Tulloch had only two games his rookie year that meant anything. But still, nice response.

Of course I wasn't expecting Ringer to take away from C.J., but for the most part, the Titans have no use for rookies.

The Titans are a hit or miss drafting team. 2008's draft class is proving to be one of the better groups. However the 2007 is the complete opposite. Where are those guys today? I know rookies need time, and in TN Jeff Fisher makes sure his guys are accountable. Something rookies aren't known for.

What it boils down to is; those high on Blount, don't hold your breath. He's got the potential, but potential doesn't get your number called on Sundays. A year from now get excited, but for the time being, the number two RB is Ringer all day.

I agree we are a hit and miss draft team.

Some years we seem to have guys that come in and a few years later they have a solid starter position on the team. Mainly OL guys.

But that seems to be the only group of guys we draft well.

I cant count how many wide outs, defensive backs, and defensive linemen we have had in the last 7-8 years. I think Fuller has been the only DB drafted in a later round that has stuck around that is worth while. Hopefully Williams will break the WR trend. Morgan will probably fir into our system pretty well.

It seems like we draft to fill a roster spot and not to provide depth.

This applies to every single team in the NFL.
