"2. Tennessee Titans. Two years ago, Titans starter Vince Young flamed out in Week 1, and Kerry Collins led the team to a 13-3 record. Now, when Collins found himself yanked for Young after a disastrous start to 2009, Young has shown signs of another potential meltdown, and Collins remains in place, mop and bucket at the ready.

Over the long haul, the Titans may need not only a new backup but also a new starter. For now, though, they've still got one of the best No. 2's in the NFL, and they could need him sooner than anyone realizes."

Any article written by Florio is always negative about Vince regardless. Hes kinda like the new Merril Hodge.

I didn't mean for this to be about VY. Just to show once again the only people that hates and think Collins (and Fisher) sucks are Titans fans. Go figure.

And Giants' fans. And Saints' fans. And Panthers' fans.

Pretty much every team he's ever played for...

Anyone who thinks Collins is a bad backup QB is retarded.

most fans want backups to be able to win a SB ring. fact is if your starter goes down, most likely your season is over. its like changing defensive coaches in the middle of the season.

If there is such a thing as a prototypical backup QB, Collins is it. He can manage a game well (see 2008) and can make all the throws. I think the Titans could have/should have won a SB with Collins in 2008.

^^^Yes. We royally sucked up that playoff opportunity. CJ injured, missed FG's and fumbles. God that one hurt.

I'm sure we all could pick a couple legitimate #2's around the league we'd like better than Collins but to continue to bash him as a backup is just plain dumb.
