    Well...

They are 3 different responses to 3 posts.

Sounds like triple posting because I'm basically making the same points...

Maybe your mommy can explain it to you?

If someone says "Joe Montana is the best QB in NFL history" are you going to take that as fact? What about "Emmitt Smith is the best RB in NFL history" fact?

Time to use common sense and intelligence to realize that these CAN'T be factual statements and are open to interpretation. Some people will say Brady or Payton. Some will say Jim Brown, Peyton, or Barry Sanders.

IN MY OPINION, the majority are wrong. (in my opinion SHOULD go without saying)

What will your snide comment be this time?

You see I understand the difference between fact and opinion.
You said they were wrong. You didn't say you disagree and for someone who is so focused on spelling and grammar and looking into every little meaning (since you have nothing else) you would have said it.

Just to serve as a reminder, here is what you said
Nothing in that is even your opinion, you just pig-tailed off Guts post to attempt to help your case.

    Hypocrite...noted.

My God what a gross overestimation.

No, but Kearse was, and there were and there were lots of talented D-Linemen in the league then. Haynesworth wouldn't have measured up. Again, I thought we agreed this was irrelevant.

    See above.

Haynesworth isn't a LT or even a NT. He's a DT. I'm not saying "stat guys" make the difference. I'm starting to think you didn't even watch Jevon play back then. His play the last couple of seasons isn't the old Jevon. I am saying as far as DT's go, there are stats that paint a decent picture on how that player played. You yourself are quick to note that Haynesworth led DT's in sacks in '08. You yourself are comparing both players to their peers statistically in their respective seasons. The main difference is Kearse was up against Carter, Rice, and Porcher in their prime. Who was Haynesworth up against? Furthermore, how would that paint any kind of picture on what either player did for their team?

And there is certainly precedence for players taking on blocks and providing room for other players to make plays. Haynesworth was very effective at this, but it was also a very effective scheme. The Titans stunted the D-Line a lot and Haynesworth played all over the line, as did all our D-Linemen. When he missed games in '08, he wasn't really missed. Jason Jones probably had a career game against the Steelers in his absence.

Haye was a highly regarded DT before he got hurt. I never said it was ALL about stats. Corry redding is a really really really poor example to try to make the point you're trying to make here.

So I should expect Freeney to have 50 plus tackles this year? And if he doesn't, I am to disregard him as one of the most disruptive pass rushers in the game?

Number one, it was his rookie season. Number two, it created some great mismatches. This would be like me arguing that Haynesworth was a weak DT because the Titans stunted Haynesworth at end and lined him up at end so often.

You're really going to go there? You're going to compare the '08 Kearse without knees to the '08 Haynesworth. I get what you're saying. The guy was a great DT. He did what a great DT is supposed to do and collapsed pockets. Consider it noted. Just recognize that Kearse did what a great DE is supposed to do and created pressure and sacked the QB.

I didn't realize Schwartz always had CB's playing ten plus yards off the line so teams could run slants every play and the QB always had a quick out at the first sign of pressure. I guess Schwartz didn't call all those stunts along the D-Line, because Cecil ran the same scheme, and he certainly didn't. Of course, this is sarcasm. It is the same basic scheme but there were adjustments made that were for our detriment. IMO, Cecil wanted to run a defense that included a lot of blitz packages, and Mr. Conservative likely handcuffed him from doing so. It was midseason before we saw anything that even remotely resembled the defense Schwartz had installed here albeit not as successful without the big guy in the middle.

Because they're not rookies. The Colts used ONE rookie CB this past season. It's something they seldom do. Again, they draft players to develop them in their scheme.

You really can't get your head around the fact that there are ten other players that play defense? Both defenses got dramatically worse when both players left. You're acting like the great plays that Kearse made actually made the defense worse.

Tony also had 25 QB pressures. If I'm not mistake, Haynesworth had 30 in '08; His best year. Tony also wasn't being played at end every other play. Good for Tony.

According to Haynesworth, he didn't fit the 4-3 scheme Blache had in place either.

Overpaid for the best defensive player in the league? Nonsense.

Actually, I did shell out $60 for NFL Rewind and my best friend is a Skins fan, so I tried to watch as many games as I could with him. Orakpo is a very talented player and the Skins often played him at OLB. Teams should try to maximize a players talents and is likely the reason Shanahan is comfortable with the defense transitioning to a 3-4. You seem to think a DE needs to eat blocks to be more talented than a DT. Not the way it works.

His bank account confirms he was a good player?

Eddie and Steve got them there.

Since you aren't going to get it, I give up. It should be obvious to those that understand English and with intelligence that my comments were "in my opinion". I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you actually do realize that but just enjoy giving me sh t. I almost always give posters the benefit of the doubt in any comment that can't be factually proven as a person's opinion.

Your m o is to support all Titans decisions and make snide comments against anyone that has independent opinions regarding the Titans franchise.

See http://www.gotitans.com/goForum/showthread.php?t=58571&page=4 for most recent example.

Our bantering has made this thread suck the last few pages. IN MY OPINION of course.

I find Psychop and Guts, among others, back and forth a pretty interesting discussion. I'll say this, I didn't think of Kearse when I made the post that led to the creation of this thread, and Psychop's points have made me reconsider the best lineman. However I still lean towards Gut's point of view.

Anyway I'm out, but I hope you all continue the discussion, at least I find it an interesting debate.
