Nate Washington, Alan Lowry (or whoever decided to short kick the ball before half time), and Tony Brown are to blame for that loss. VY did all he could.

If Nate doesn't drop the pass, that's a TD... 27-24. If we didn't short kick before half time or TB didn't get a moronic 15 yard penalty, the Colts wouldn't have kicked the field goal... 24-24. Tied ball game.

You just proved that there are alot of things that lead to a loss. Just like there are lots of things leading to a win. So i think VY winning record is not a reflection of HIS play. But a reflection of how he and the TEAM plays when he's in.

Win as a team, lose as a team. There area always a combination of factors that contribute to a win or the loss; rarely can the team's success or failure be attributed to one specific player.

IMO, it's not so much about a particular area where Vince needs to improve, but his overall consistency from week to week. Last year was a perfect example. Many of Vince's performances fell somewhere between "good" and "great"....but he also had a couple of not-so-good showings down the stretch (@Indy, @Seattle)....and of course, his performance against the Chargers was just plain horrible.

That said, I do think there's reason for optimism......consider the improvement we saw in his deep ball. In the first three years of his career, his deep passes were a total crapshoot...wobbly ducks with very poor accuracy. But he obviously spent a lot of time on it last offseason...and once he returned to the field, the improvement was apparent. He was making throws of 30+ yards with great accuracy, and doing so with great consistency. His deep ball went from being ugly and inconsistent to very, very good....and the transition took only a few months.

If he demonstrates a similar level of dedication to other aspects of his game this offseason (his recognition skills and short passes in particular) his overall effectiveness as a passer would improve dramatically. And if that happens, he could very easily end up being one of the most dangerous and productive QB's in the league.

Normally I wouldn't expect to see such significant improvement in a single offseason....but then, I never would have believed he could make the huge and immediate leap as a deep passer that we saw last year. But he did. Now it's just a matter of showing similar dedication to other aspects of his game.

I'm not saying it will happen overnight, or that he'll suddenly become the second coming of Steve Young.

But after seeing the way he turned things around last year, I wouldn't rule it out, either.

you cant count that last game against seattle cause our main goal that game was to get cj his yards. but at the end he did lead the go ahead drive with that good pass and catch to washington!

I wouldn't count his game against indy as a bad game however. He played well and his int came from throwing on the run and britt moved at the last minute. Which is why he apologized later. But you are exactly right. This is a team, and no one wins or loses from one guy.

CJ would've had another 40-50 yards added to his 2,006 if the refs hadn't have been morons and called holding on Hall. Such a weak call.
