Grade the Titans draft: rounds 1-3

we missed the run on CBs and Ss because we didn't have a second round pick, although it seems like we did start the run on WRs.

for both third round picks i wanted the guy who was selected immediately before ours(chad jones and brandon ghee)

once i again i think we missed out on being aggressive and settling for what the other teams left us.

 

B-

Rennie Curran- we could have got in the 4th round.
Derrick Morgan- is a solid pick and will start from day 1.
Damian Williams- is not a burner, but he knows how to find that endzone and will be a solid slot WR for us for years to come.

If we somehow add Perrish Cox in the 4th, i will give the Titans a (A) for sure.

Also, why is this website so hard to access at times? It gets very frustrating to say the least.

 

Agree 100%. I can't believe he hasn't been picked yet. He'd be a great choice for us. I also think we need to draft another returner to have a backup plan. We sure did need one last year.

Curran fills a need for us, but think if we had our 2nd round pick we still could have landed Daryl Washington from TCU. The dude is a stud!

I was also hoping Major Wright or Ghee would fall to us.

 

I am a big Perrish Cox fan, but I don't believe Big 12 CBs have good success in the NFL. Unfortunately.

3b) as usual we did reached and took Curran with our 3b when we could have had Griffin
(Washburn's a good coach, he doesn't need top shelf talent to make a stud, Griffin would suffice)
3a) Damian Williams is intriguing and I knew we needed WR, but I am pretty certain the player they really wanted was Tate who fell to 60 and we failed to move up for what would have been a 4th rounder. Instead we wait and settle for someone we're not that high on
2) We didn't have a two because of the Cook deal, plenty of topshelf talent was available. Everyone knew even last year that this years draft would be talent laden.
1) No moves up or down, we get a very ordinary player at the 16th spot, who was the 6th DL taken.

Not too impressive in my book and we don't have Haynesworth back and it doesn't look like we will get him.

What could we have done better?
Trade up or down and grab an impact safety going up. Down accumulate more picks in the 2nd; grab Mays trade the other for Haynesworth, get a good LB with our 3a, 3b plug in another hole like CB, gave our 5th for Ginn.

If we get Perrish Cox, Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, or Dominque Franks i'd give it an A.

 

I won't give a grade till the whole draft's over....but I'm saying now it's not an F

Everyone does their fair share of complaining, but I've never seen someone cry more than you.
