DT Lamarr Houston-Texas

I honestly think Houston is better suited as a DE in a 3-4 scheme. I would love to have him if we had a 2nd round pick. Houston has almost zero body fat, as someone said, he came to Texas as a big Rb and grew into a DT. IMO he is the anti-AH, a tireless worker at everything, a great leader, and a great lockerroom guy.

 

From what I saw he is a better fit in the 4-3 scheme the Titans use where he can use his quickness to penetrate where a 3-4 DE has multiple gap responsibility. He looks like Jason Jones the way he plays. Quick off the snap, penetrating. He isn't 1st round material probably but looks like the exact kind of guy the Titans would use their 2nd rounder on if they had one.

 

This years draft is crazy. So much talent on the DL, OL, and DB. Also WR has alot of good talent too. It's a very deep draft.

I think the best DT is Terrence Cody. A 6'4 349lb monster, still ran a 5.62 40. a 22" vert. He may not be the biggest or the fastest, but he'll have the Hayneworth effect. How you just throw him any their to plug holes. Try to draw attention to a double team. I think he would be a perfect player for a 3-4 team. I think the Jets in the 2nd round would love Cody; He could backup Jenkins.

Another prospect: Corey Wootton. He's kind-of like a Jason Jones body. 6'6 270lbs. Ran a 4.92 and rumored a 4.76. He's been injured for the combine/pro-day so he's kindof a mystery player. It's also been said that hes put on 10lbs since the combine. Corey was projected as the #3 DE at the start of the year. Now he's the #7 and has fallen to the 2nd round. If he really put on those 10lbs he could make a solid DT.

 

What if it meant reacquiring Haynesworth?

 

i'm pretty sure he's ALWAYS been the biggest....

 

This is a joke right? He runs as fast as someones grandmother and has a vertical barely high enough to get a credit card under his feet. He proved he has no control of is weight considering all he had to do to really raise his draft stock and make millions of dollars more is lose some weight and he wasn't disciplined enough to even show up in as good of shape as he played (compared to a guy like Dunlap who actually put some effort in before his workouts and looked very good). Cody won't go in the first round for sure and could really free fall. The only reason any team would take him is because the draft is weak with NTs).

 

Anyone who doesn't think AH is worth a 3rd and 2nd next year is nuts. AH is a difference maker.

 

When you're 350lbs I'd like to see you run a 8.0 40 soxcat.
