The loss of Haynesworth exposed that our secondary was over-rated IMO. QB's were releasing the ball much faster and when scrambling as the pocket collapsed. I believe AH is that much of a force when motivated. There are many corners that CAN cover Andre Johnson, Wayne and Moss without that kind of pressure up front being applied.

Waiting on the younger guys to develop is a good idea if you're not willing to risk that AH would play motivated when back. There is no question he is dominant when he wants to be. I think he easily has 3 more years of that left in him. Personally I'd rather risk have AH back not motivated versus waiting to see what Vickerson and Haye do. I think we're fishing in empty waters in that regard. I think Tony Brown's potential is about 65% of AH's playing ability. I'd rather see Wm Hayes develop watching AH and see what J. Jones could do at DE.

I'd be happy to have AH back at trade mentioned above, but certainly wouldn't be disappointed not to. I expect the Titan's FO to remain dogmatic in their approach to FA.

I want this guy back badly. I don't care for his attitude, but he does play with a certain level of violence that we could really use. I think he could play any position from DT/NT/DE to MLB, seriously. I know it sounds wild to hear Haynesworth at MLB, but he can move when he isn't sucking wind. Of course he could never be a full-time linebacker, but it sure would be sweet to see the look on Peyton Manning's face when Big Al dropped back. I can't not want him, he's the best to me right now even with his issues. Forget the motivation factor, he'll play at his best when he realizes he's the missing piece to a Super Bowl team. I think at this point we can be a contending team without Haynesworth, but with him we're a lock for 13-3 or better even with a difficult schedule. I'm probably dreaming over here, but man would I love to have him back. Plus his trade value is plummeting as we speak so it could happen. I just hope he does something making them want him out of D.C., but not something that would have us turn our heads. Move Jason Jones to DE coaches, then bring back Haynesworth, then draft a CB/KR.

If we get him back, we're set. This team will be at least 12-4 again regardless of how difficult the schedule. The entire D will immediately get better. Our secondary of Hope and Griffin will return to Pro Bowl form.

When he first left last year, I seriously downplayed how much we'd suffer without him. And I can admit that I has horribly wrong about that. He makes more of an impact as a part-time player (factoring in his breaks and breathers) than our other DTs do combined. It was clearly obvious that his loss dropped the entire D down a couple pegs.

Heck, let's trade our first for him, pay him an extra signing bonus, and put him at corner opposite Finnegan. Obviously, the guy is worth it...

Add all of that in to the fact that we will be able to rotate our DTs more frequently, so they will be able to go harder when they are actually in. And if anyone gets on our bad side, we would have an expert head stomper (intimidating at the very least!) :ha:

looking at Fat Alberts stats there is one glaring number. Under G there is only a single 16 and that was his rookie year - 2002.

Not only does FA take off plays he takes off games, as noted above, and he took off 2009 and is looking to take off 2010.

I hated having too sit in the stands while FA lay on the field like he had been shot, 7 trainers would help FA too the sideline. 2 plays later FA would be on the field again.

An unmotivated FA is not something I want to experience again.

    To: GoT

He's a bear of a man. Of course he'll get winded after 3-4 plays at full speed, and his top speed is great for a guy that large. He's nimble, explosive, but also easily tired. I'm FINE with him coming off the field every so often for air. His part-time play still over delivers anyone we have. Demanding multiple blockers, and all the other superlatives is defiantly worth his crap he pulls. Plus now he won't be money hungry, so our price will more likely meet his.

But if he is looking to be greedy, then he can starve. I want him only thinking he'd be no $100M cap killer.

I basically agree with you, but I don't think FA will ever be motivated again and you do.

apparently i'm the only one who totally forgot jovan haye was even on the team. what the hell did that guy do all year?

someone posted either in a different thread or earlier in this one that the redskins payed hanyesworth about $8 million per sack last year.

does anyone know how much we payed haye per sack last year? $7 million! and it wasn't even for a whole sack, it was half a sack!
