Good post. And I can definitely see where you're coming from. But, for me at least, how we finish the season/post-season is going to have little to no impact on my opinion of Fisher. Even if we do miraculously win the Super Bowl, Fisher would be pretty far down on my list of people to thank. He's just made too many mistakes this season for me to forgive. If Bud hadn't stepped in and forced his hand I have no doubt in my mind that Fish would've rolled with Collins for another couple of losses (because, after all, he gave us the best chance to win :ha: ), killing our playoff hopes entirely.

I see your point and respect your opinion. But to me, he's had too many chances as it is.

The 3 most important people in the Titans turnaround:

    Vince Young
    Cortland Finnegan
    Rod Hood

2 of those players only had a chance to see the field becuase of injury and a decision from our owner forcing our coach to change. The other came back from injury.
So for all the people trying their best to give Jeff Fisher credit for this "turnaround"- he had nothing to do with it.

And he's even benched one of the guys that helped us the most for a guy that got us in the 0-6 hole.

Absolute rubbish! This team could have started out with a better record, not 0-6 if this so called great coach actually put the best players on the field, paid attention during training camp and made a plethora of dumb personnel mistakes that would have gotten any coach fired.

I have said it before and will say it again. I am not giving credit to the same guy who set the titans season on fire for tinkering around a bit and salvaging a 500 record from a wasted season. We should have been contenders this year not sitting on the side lines praying for miracles just to make the play offs.

Oh really? why dont you point out these so called NFL experts so we can check their track records. Because last i checked these so called experts predicted that the Texans would rise up this year and make the play offs. They couldnt even do that after being spotted 6 whole games by their division rivals.

Same experts that had Vince young dead and buried and were picking out car dealer ship names for him to use when he moved back to Houston a failed QB?

I am sorry, what exactly do these experts say of Nick Harper and his coverage skills?

How many of these experts attend the games weekly and wear titans jerseys?

Because a lot of people here rightfully bashing Fisher actually have solid factual arguments. It didnt take a science rocketist to figure out that Young was the best alternative to the then worst QB in the league. It sure as hell doesnt take an NFL expert to figure out that Harper shouldnt even be on the field.

this has got to be one of those over used phrases that people dont even understand! Dude could you please examine the meaning of your own post?

It is right to judge people after the fact. That is the right way to judge a person. Not before but after. In some cases like Nick Harper, people are indeed right to pre judge Fisher because we have a nice record of Fisher fielding some of the worst dbs and insisting they are great players week after week getting burned by average rookie WR. In that instance you are indeed right judge Fisher for his stupidity. It is very right to judge fisher after trotting Ryan mouton back on the field so he can fumble yet another kick off return that cost us a win against the jets. A win that is looming large in our play off hunt. Dont come on here and lecture us on judging a coach making such moronic decisions. This aint nuclear physics. Its freakin football.

We did... we lost 6 whole games back to back!!!!

I would sooner have an over paid cheerleader. At least she would have better imagination and creativity than Fishers only comparable to that or a rock! If that cheerleader were on the field she would probably blitz QBs more, she probably would have gone for it on 4th and inches against the Fins instead of letting them come back and score 21 un answered points.
She probably would have attempted to move the ball 60 yards in with over a minute left and all her time outs to kick the winning field goal in the game against the steelers. Not fisher though. he would rather put his faith in the coin toss.. (like he did against the Fins yet again).. Give me the over paid cheerleader. She would have won a superbowl by now having had the best teams in the league 3 times already!

Please bro, take Fisher, Nick harper and donnie nickey and move to some love shack some where with your NFL experts....

Its all a loyal titans fan could ask for xmas!

You gotta be kidding me.. (whats wrong with people nowadays... ) You are actually quoting some lousy political philosopher who could rightly be called a devout coward?(more on this in a minute) I dont know who this hobbs fella is but You and Jeff fisher probably read his book. Because using his logic one could see why Jeff fisher insisted on playing Collins over Young even after Collins proved to be the worst Qb in the league at the time.

Regarding the choice of philosopher you made, lets apply this guy's logic to the worlds worst tyrants going back to the Emperor Nero or Tiberius who used to rape young boys then throw them off a cliff outside his palace, to Hitler, Mao, Polpot, Idi Amin, Saddam Hussein... Using your logic all these tyrants shouldnt have been over thrown. They should have been left alone to carry on their murderous reign all because people should be afraid of the unknown??? What kind of lame logic is this? It gets even better when he talks about the revolution failing and death resulting from it.. ARe you freakin kidding me man? Why dont we go and ask all those dead germans, citizens of cities like Dresden if they would have chosen to kill Hitler themselves rather than wait for american bombs and invading russians hell bent on exacting their revenge on german people. "Some" of whom didnt support Hitler but chose to keep quiet about it (as per Hobbs logic) in fear that they might be killed. Funny thing is that they ended up dead, maimed, in russian gulags, or raped by blood thirsty russians. You have the gall to quote a person who actually argues for cowardice and weakness in face of tyrant whose reign will probably lead to ones death any way? (and please when you quote some body in any situation its your responsibility to make sure that your quote cant be seen in a different light) I doesnt really matter what you think Hobbs meant, your example is appallingly horrible and I would never encourage any one to burn a book but in this case i really think that is a viable option..(May be you should keep it so others can have a reference for what not to do when faced with a tyrant)

...You're hating on the writer of The Leviathan? Really? It's like, the foundation of western philosophical thought. Pretty much the foundation of any social contract theory ever. Yes, it has flaws when applies to Hitler, friggin shock. No one is comparing Fisher to Hitler. He's much more like Bush Sr. if anything. You can disagree with some of his tenants if you slippery-slope it, but Thomas Hobbes is in no way a lousy philosopher.

Fisher is not a very innovative coach, but he is a player's coach. I'll take that over a cheerleader any day.

Back to football, I'm not sure how much of the play-calling decisions were fisher or Cecil/Dinger. No excuse for not using the time-outs (YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME), and he's still ultimately responsible for the on-field product.

actually the titans players and the luckiest throw and catch i have ever seen kept the dolphins in the game. Again i love how everyone wants to blame fisher for everything. why dont we blame fisher for bullucks injury or the steelers beating the packers on a last second pass. 1 more thing jim schwartz is coaching the lions defense not the titans defense.

Yes i am hating on the writer or Leviathan.. More so that particular quote that advocates for such shameful cowardice! Matter of fact this very country wouldnt exist if we all bought into that nonsense of loving the tyrant that we know and fearing the unknown..

absolute worst quote one could use in this instance.

REgarding his rank as a philosopher,I always stack the negatives of any one person next to the positives then weigh them.

Now let us suppose all those dictators i just mentioned were handled according to the philosphy of Thomas Hobbs, this world would be one hell of a place to live in now wouldnt it. That one tenant kinda out would out weigh pretty much any other contribution he has made to man kind now wouldnt it?

REgarding comparing fisher to Hitler..Hey I am not the one bringing up dead political philosophers to make my case for keeping fisher.
