I, like most UT fans, would rather stay away from Clausen.

Actually, Berry has covered in man to man a lot this season. Even moreso than past seasons. He often lines up on the slot guy. That's a reason he hasn't had as many picks- he stays on that guy and the QB throws away from him.

I wouldn't mind Suh or Cody- both seem like forces on the inside who could help us. I'd say Cody is more in our pick range, but I doubt we'll get him.

Improving our O-line never hurts. Especially with Mawae getting older. We maintain a strong line and CJ will continue to have success. Let the O-line slip and everything will start to go downhill. If we can get a top O-lineman at our pick, I'd be all for it.

Eric berry is the only guy on that list that could play either as a cb or a safety. When Kiffin, who has coached many greats, says he ranks in the top he has seen then I think you need to take him.

    Hi everyone...newbie here.

I'm Mike from DraftTek.com and I'm the Titans Correspondent. Right now DraftTek has the Titans selecting Greg Hardy (DE-Ole Miss) with pick #9

In your guys' opinion, what are the Titans biggest positional needs?

Site looks good man. I really hope the Jags don't pick up Berry, I'd really don't want to start hating him. DE, DT, CB, LB and depending on how VY plays this season and whatever comes of Fisher, QB.

Thanks for the kind words. The site isn't mine, its owned by a guy in California who started out working with FedEx (designed the computer program they use for on-the-ground shipping routes). However, when I started two years ago it was a lot more "bare" than it is now.

I personally have Berry a lot higher, can't see him dropping past #5 but the computer program and the guy who does the individual ranking sees differently I guess.

On a personal note, this is why I love Titans fans, you guys have some of the most D-line depth of anyone in the league and you still (correctly IMO) identify DE and DT as your biggest needs.

I like Suh from Nebraska. With the philosophy Cecil usages DT is an important postilion to be good at in Nashville.

I'd say that looks about right. Hopefully Vince will play well so we don't have to drop another 1st rounder on a QB. A lot depends on free agency as to which of those 4 positions is the biggest need, but right now I'd guess it's going to be LB or DE.

    Well...

A LOT depends on how VY plays, whether he rips up his contract and accepts a reasonable new one, and which free agents they keep and sign.

The Titans could lose KVB, Kearse, TBrown, Vickerson, Tulloch, Bulluck, and Harper off the defense and Mawae, Amano, Scaife, Crumpler, White, VY (cut), Collins (cut) off the offense.

I believe the Titans should let Kearse and KVB go as they are no longer worth what they are making and not better than the guys 'behind' them. Hayes and Ford should be starting next year...but DL depth would then be important in the draft (can't have too many good pass rushers).

At DT I think they NEED to keep TBrown as he's their best DT. If he wants too much, they let him go. JJones is an excellent pass rusher from the DT spot but outside of Brown, we don't have a DT that's a good pass rusher AND a good run defender...which is why DT could get a big look in rnd 1 if the talent is there.

I think the Titans should keep Bulluck but they could let him walk and replace him with McGrath or a high pick LB (1st rnd). Similarly, they could keep Bulluck, let Tulloch walk and move McGrath inside...OR draft a good MLB though I don't think it'd be in rnd 1.

I think Harper's gone and would be replaced by Hood. If Hood holds up the rest of this season, CB is lowered in importance in the draft. Since the Titans don't have a 2nd rnd pick this year, I don't see them drafting a zone cb in rnd 1.

1st rnd definitely comes down to will VY or won't VY be our starter next year. He needs to lay well AND rip up his current contract to come back. It's certainly possible, but if not, the Titans take a QB in rnd 1 most likely.

The Titans could use an upgrade at OC or OG in rnd 1, but they don't even like to take LT's in rnd 1 - let alone a OG or OC. They won't take another RB or WR or TE in rnd 1.

So they will either take a...

QB (if VY isn't gonna be our starter next year)
BPA at DE/DT or possibly LB or CB
BPA any position if they have no glaring holes.

A lot of the experts are in love with Hardy but a lot of the college DE pass rushers have some issues...as do some of the DT's. It'll be very interesting to see who comes out. Right now, Hardy's not a bad pick.

    so?
Cecil won't be here so we shouldn't draft someone who fits his "philosophy"

The win streak has given a lot of people hope for a wildcard spot. At the very least, we won't have a top 5 or 10 pick we were all thinking. And VY has played well, so taking a QB in the first doesn't seem like a way to go. So where do we go now?

Berry and Suh will be long gone by the time we pick. If either of them fell to us, we would be stupid not to take either one. Personally, I'd like for us to take Brandon Spikes or Joe Haden from Florida. A solid DT like Cody would be good too, but I don't think DT is as big of a need as LB and DB.
