    Yes, you are....

It doesn't seem like you even know what questions needed to be answered, where this one game is concerned. I'll go ahead and list some for you...
Did Vince show maturity and poise?
    Yes
Did he show that he has improved?*
    Yes
*Did he go through his reads and progressions?
    Yes
    *Did he make good decisions?
    For the most part, Yes.
*Did he minimize his mistakes and turnovers?
    Yes
*Did he show that he can take off running when the play breaks down?
    Yes

Now, IMO, the question is, can he be as consistent with his play during the Jax game, for the remainder of the season?
Other questions that will need more games to be answered:
-How will he bounce back after getting picked?
-How well will he play when he is put in a position to win a game for us?

No, but he kept several drives alive that Collins may not have been able to.

No, but I think he was the catalyst that fired the team up; the team being fired up and playing as a unit won us the game. If CJ was the MVP (and I think he is), then I credit VY's mere presence on the field as a big boost for CJ's performance. I think VY and CJ's presence in the backfield are going to give defenses fits for the remainder of the season.

    Totally agree with you here.
And while we don't need to get ahead of ourselves, I think VY's performance provides a great platform/foundation to build upon.

True, but you still need the rest of the components and it's nearly impossible to build a Superbowl caliber team that's consistent without an elite, franchise QB. How can you call a QB that has proven that when things get tough he quits on his team a catalyst for the rest of team:rolleyes:?

Granted Vince had a good game this week and can keep some drives alive with his legs but like I said everything went as scripted. I can assure you that we wouldn't have went on that 10-0 run last year and wouldn't have finished 13-3 with VY last year. Kerry wasn't the only problem and Vince is not the quick cure solution to the problems experienced so far this year. If you think that's the case you need open you eyes and look deeper.

I say a tiger never changes his stripes and trying to turn chicken sh&# into chicken salad is a waste of time and money. I hope you're right, I hope all of the sudden a quitter turns into a superstar winner but more times than not things don't turn out that way. I agree that this is a perfect time to give VY one more shot to prove his worth but I'm pretty sure what the outcome will be. I'm in the investment business and I can say from experience that you have to be able to realize when you've made a miscalulation and cut your losses before a small cut turns into a major hemorrhage. I just can't see him ever being able to read a defense on the NFL level, remember he scored one of the lowest scores ever on the wonderlic test. You can't coach intelligence!!

Ok, this argument is starting to get as old as his Wonderlic score example.
By your logic, anyone who has had a speeding ticket should be labelled as a bad driver, and have their license revoked permanently.
Anyone who steals something should have their hands cut off and be labelled a theif for the rest of their life.
Anyone who commits adultery should be labelled a cheater and never allowed to sleep with or marry anyone else again.
Please, for the love of all that is good GTFO of the past and let Vince have a clean slate. Let's say he did quit on the team. So what? It's irrelevant now.

Not going to disagree with you there. But if you want to TOTALLY disregard all the crap that has happened to Vince over the past year and throw out any possibility that he has turned over a new leaf, then you just remain in denial.
I don't think Vince could have had a much better return-to-starter. But the bigger question is, if he can keep it going.

Not arguing with you there. Our problems this year stem from the top, all the way to the bottom...team wide/coaching staff wide.
And Vince is supposed to be the long-term solution...at least that's what returning him to starting duties is going to determine. How it pans out remains to be seen, but you cannot deny that we are off to a very good start with him back.

Another important bit of info is that VY didn't have CJ and KC did.

And we all saw what happened Sunday when VY has a weapon like CJ in the backfield.

Your obviously the kind of person who has to be shown how things work, and cant figure them out for yourself. There's no template to build off of in the NFL. Go get your systematical QB who will play fundamental QB play and slip and fall. Or you can take what you've got in Vince (a natural leader/winner) and go from there. Vince has the ability to put you in front from the beginning, and he can also come back to win, but you don't like him is all. I don't like Kerry (on the field), but I still find some good in him (phenomenal backup). Maybe it just me but I'd rather go into a fight with someone I know can hit back. Rather than someone who gives up on plays by throwing to his coach out of bounds.

I know that you get paid to argue so no wonder your choosing to do just that, but let me ask you something: do you think Young will be better week 9-17 or worse than week 8? I said dimmest, because I feel he will improve on last weeks numbers and remain consistent. We all know Vince has had darker days before, but I meant dimmest in the sense that he will only brighten up from here. And away from football yes Collins has had much worse days than Vince has. Just ask the Panthers Muhsin Muhammad.

I'm a realist and as far as I'm concerned I've already been shown what VY is all about. Again, it's year 4 for a #3 pick overall and all he's shown is that he can quit on his team when things get tough and they need him most. How is that a "leader/winner"??? If your leader is a quitter, how do you build upon that?? Do you want to "go into a fight with someone" who's going to run the other way? That's what you're saying because that's the fact of what he's shown us in the past. Maybe that's different now but I doubt it. A persons character is a persons character.

I was hopeful when VY came to town, he wasn't my first pick I always wondered why we didn't get Cutler who was right here in our backyard but that's a whole different topic. But now 4 years later and no signs of him ever being able to compete consistently at the NFL level I say let's cut our losses and move on. I hope I'm wrong but I've always said a loser is a loser!!
