Breaking News: Richard Seymour traded to Oakland for Raiders 2011 first-round pick

The patriots are the best run franchise in the nfl. They knew they were not going to resign him. He will want fat albert money and they get a top ten pick. They also got oakland's best pass rusher earlier for a 4th or a 5th pick in Burgess. Hats off to the pats the rich keep getting richer!

 

A first round pick for a 29 year old DT, I dunno. He will be a great upgrade for Oakland for sure but that's a steep price IMO.

 

Raiders still wont do anything this season.

 

Burgess wasn't their best pass rusher. His numbers have been dropping every year since 05 as has his number of games played per season.

 

Upside? Seymour is going to be 30 years old in October and after this year will be looking for major bucks. I don't doubt he can still play but for one year before his contract runs out and being 30 years old not to mention the Raiders suck and just gave up a top 10 pick this is a bonehead move.

I could see maybe a 2nd or 3rd round pick getting him if the team is close to competing for a SB (missing piece) but this makes no sense to me for the Raiders.

 

They haven't made sense for years...

Why does it seem like the Pats and Raiders have some under the table deals going on? The Raiders gave them RANDY MOSS for an f'ing 4th round pick. That's all you ask for Moss? Now they give them a FIRST ROUNDER for this old geezzer? ...does not compute.

 

at that point, it looked like Moss was going to be a flop. He didn't do anything in Oakland. Nobody was going to give a high pick for him, but a 4th did seem ridiculous back then though.

 

Moss didn't want to go anywhere but New England. The Raiders had to get something for him.
