Just bought myself a Macbook Pro last week

you might want to wait a wee bit longer until the rumored QuadCore MBP's come out later this year / early next year

Won over by the gimmicks and toys probably.

I've gotta get one here soon for school. Standard for advertising. I'm not too thrilled about it, especially considering how ridiculously overpriced the things are for a 13inch screen. My cell phone has a bigger screen.

 

I rent a macbook from my school (included in tuition) and we are getting the new ones this year. I would say they are more efficient than the PC laptops but I can see why someone wouldn't want to pay hundreds extra for a few "free toys".

 

I buy Macs because you get what you pay for. I bought my first in 2000 and haven't looked back. I've had 1 problem in 4 computers that was fixed in a day at my local mac store.

Never had a virus. No hardware problems. They're great machines.

 

I've used my sister's Mac a couple of times in the last month when I was visiting her, and I'll have to say I was impressed. I had believed the hype about Apple's "cool factor," but I was wrong.

Assuming I can transfer everything I have from my current PC when the time comes time to replace it, I'll look first at a Mac.

Because they're great at running multiple large applications like Photoshop/illustrator/c4d.

If you're a designer, or in to film making, etc- a mac makes perfect sense. It's usually kids that have no need for a mac that have them though. Much like the iPhone consumers.
