Brawl has the potential to never leave the console if you're into beat em ups and you have a few people to play with. Zelda is stellar as always, and I also recommend Metroid Prime.
Mario Strikers is also a hell of a lot of fun and has a really challenging single-player mode. It's lost a lot of its replay value though since online mode is now dead. A real shame, but some of those players were incredibly dirty.
Wii Sports' bowling should keep you hooked for a while, and baseball is satisfying fun, too. Tennis gets a little old, boxing isn't accurate enough and the putting in golf is infuriating.

...There are things that I love about my Wii, but I basically avoid third-party games, which become overly gimmicky. Point in case, the character models in Madden/Ghostbusters. It's not like I'm avoiding them for that reason, but I personally prefer the more realistic look.

The new Tiger Woods golf is supposed to take advantage of the new little gyro addon for the Wiimotes. They say it will make the swing even more sensitive and add more realism to the game.

I love the wii. We have the wii fit. I was surprised with how well it works. you can get a great work out and loose some weight if you stick with the program. it has some pretty cool balance games also that you use with the balance board.

Does anyone know if Star Wars - Force Unleashed on Wii actually uses the Wii-mote as a lightsabre? Or am I just dreaming?

Yes, you can play Gamecube games on the Wii, just as long as you have Gamecube controllers.

...and you need gamecube memory cards to save GC games on Wii. The card slots are on the side panel of the Wii. What's weird is I used to have a Wii and I had more fun with Wii Sports alone than any other Wii game out there.

If you're looking for more, Gunny, Metroid Prime Trilogy lets you play the first two GC Metroids as Wii games now, using the remote and nunchuk instead of just the GC controller and playing it the old fashioned way. (I know it was 2002, but still...) Should be a top seller.

I have no clue about the Star Wars game, by the way.
