I'm pretty new to UFC and Saturday night's PPV was the first I'd seen for some time. As a old boxing fan, I must admit this was so much better than the previous 10 boxing PPV events I'd rented.

I watched WEC last night on Versus and enjoyed a replay of Brown vs. Faber.

Glad you enjoyed it, I thought it was a pretty good PPV! :thumb: Always good to see UFC support!

I can't even watch boxing anymore. I think the last boxing match I really enjoyed watching was Lewis vs. Tyson.

He more recently fought in Elite XC against a bunch of UFC veterans including Jason Von Flue, Tony Fryklund, Sam Morgan, and most impressively Frank Shamrock (not Ken). Each fight, he imposed his will, and he is more versatile then flying scissor kicks. He has just as good footwork as Lyota, and can strike with him.

indeed. But then again, just like with Machida, nobody can get him down long enough to do what they want on the ground. Very similar in that they can keep it standing for as long as they want.

Liddell was champ for a long time, yes. I see Lyota being champ for a very long time as well. I can't see ANYBODY actually in the UFC being able to beat him. He's just too fast, and too skilled. On a whole different other level. But, I still believe that Cung Le could no doubt hang with him.

[edit] I'd like to see Anderson Silva vs him though...

Cung Le hasn't fought anybody who could hang in the UFC.He's also a 37 yr old middlweight.Yes that includes Shamrock who's way past his prime.

He wouldn't last a round against Machida.

I don't watch mma outside of UFC because it'd take forever to learn all the fighters, but that Cung Le doesn't look that special honestly, a couple of spinning kicks and what? A lucky punch that led to a knockout..anyone can do that honestly. Granted I haven't seen his other fights, based off the video in this thread he looks pretty average and really slow compared to top ufc middleweights.
