guaranteed 90% of the first round players have smoked pot... and probably 50% still do on the regular... lets put another play maker on the field

That's not the point. The point is, he's dumb enough to do it knowing he already has "off the field" flags raised - and knowing he'd be tested.
It shows that he doesn't use his brain.

The guy's got more cons than pros.

    1. No true position.
    2. Too short to be a WR.
    3. Can't run routes.
    4. Has off the field problems.
    5. Isn't smart enough to turn from those problems.
    6. Injury prone.
    7. A FLORIDA GATOR RECEIVER.

    vs.

    1. He's fast.
    2. uhh.... he's fast?

Vince Young had the same "well, he's a playmaker" excuse when everyone should have known he'd be a bust. We don't need another one.
Being a playmaker in college is easy if you're fast. What else do you have?

  3. Why do u have to bring up VY again in a thread that doesnt even concern him? We got it, you know u hate vince and hope he dies and never plays football again until when he shuts everyone up and u come running back like a little baby to his band wagon!

  4. not to mention harvy isnt half the college player vince was!

It seems clear to me he doesn't think he is doing anything wrong by smoking dope. And a large part of society today agrees with him. I don't. I think it destroys lives. Will he stop? Sure doesn't look like it. So whoever drafts him better be prepared. This was a clue. He wants to smoke. And if he wants to be like Kumar and Harold that is his deal, but he he shouldn't expect that he can play in the nfl too. It don't work like that. He's headed for a brick wall. If you look at the high profile althletes suspected of smoking pot, it seems to have limited some, and perhaps helped others. I think for musicians and players it may add a creative element to your game. But in the end, it will destroy your life in the public eye. And that has consequences. And they all know it. Otherwise they would be open about their use. If you have to hide something, it is having an impact on you negatively. I look as the Josh Hamilton story and so many others who had to hide their use, and the paranoia that comes with that. It's not healthy. And it doesn't just impact the user, the whole family deals.

it just goes to show that marijuana does not stop a player from playing at a high level, I really don't see the point in demoralizing someone for smoking pot. it isn't a performance enhancing drug.

This is the first time I've mentioned VY in forever lol.

and it's completely relevant. Anytime 'busts' are mentioned, he'll be an example. Get used to it.

I have to say, I agree with Deuce. I don't agree with smoking weed, but that's not my problem with Harvin. If he's dumb enough to get caught when he knew when and where the drug test was coming, how's he going to keep from getting caught by random drug tests? Even if he is an amazing playmaker, that won't help one damn bit if he stays suspended. (Ricky Williams!!!) I'm not interested in a guy who is this ignorant. He has Trouble branded on his @$$.

I agree. I don't do the drug, and don't technically SUPPORT it, but I also don't really have a problem against it.

that's not really the issue. chances are a lot of these guys are asked straight up in their interviews if they've ever smoked pot or used other recreational drugs. the issue is that he KNOWS he's going to be tested for everything under the sun at the combine and he still tested positive. he's either incredibly dumb or incredibly arrogant.
