    I see your nuclear waste conspiracy theory and raise you the real reason that this piracy started back in the 1980s (i.e. before the 1991 date in your excerpt).

    Really, pirates? Really? I have a better idea, if you want to stop illegal fishing off your coast, instead of taking the law into your own hands, how about actually combining your efforts into possibly creating a stable government for Somalia? How about that? Naw. That would make too much d@mn sense.

    And this quote is exclusively for you jesse...
    Maybe one day you will wake up with some intelligence and perception and realize that paying them is not the way to go. 'Starving' them out will eventually cause them to dwindle out.

    This is obviously not Europe or Somalia's fault, it's ours. For the past 8 years we have been so insensitive to the real reasons these people are forced to take up terrorism and piracy. We really should just sit down and talk with them. Tell them that what they are doing is wrong but we understand they were forced to because of America's arrogance. Then, instead of punishing them, we should invite them to live in our country, give them free education, free health care, gov. programs that they won't have to contribute to. Then we can hope that our sensitivity and compassion will help them see the error of their ways.

    Or, we could shoot any of these terrorists and pirates that try to STEAL property and take lives of INNOCENT people, then let Keith Olberman whine about it.

    Kudos to you Sarkozy and crew!

    And this quote from Haji...
    :ha::ha:
    I haven't been this entertained by such a blatant display of bulls**t since Baghdad Bob was telling the Iraqis the US was defeated as US tanks were rolling behind him in the background.

    Haji, the more this progresses, the more exponentially difficult it is going to be for you to attack US and particularly French ships now. They will start killing you guys on sight. And if you think for one effin second that you are even close to a match for spec ops forces, feel free to challenge them. I'd rather see all of you dead (and no longer able to threaten anyone else ever) than for you to live to fight another day.

    HA! You almost had me there with that first paragraph (at least I HOPE it's sarcasm).

    Keith Olberman needs to chug a huge frothy mug of STFU!

    No... but it's still necessary to limit the amount of illegal drugs in our country, right?

    Or, maybe you think we should stop arresting rapists, murderers, and child molesters since those crimes still happen, too.

    no we should arrest them cause it works so well. i think murders are down to 1 per year.

    we need to find what clicks in people heads that make them do harm to other people and nip it in the bud at birth. spend 100,000,000, trillion $ if they have to on brain research and come up with a medicine that destroys the violent part of the human brain. Might sound stupid but i think it could be done if we put as much effort into as we do war on drugs.

    thats my solution . good luck stopping crime with any other solution.

    So you really think its a biological problem? Stress, fear, trauma have no part in ones mental state? What about self control, discipline? Who determines the boundry of who and when a person is deemed to be unacceptably violent? Is it the person who squashes every roach on sight, or the one who kills a pigeon, what about football players ,boxers, mma fighters and others who pursue violent professions? Just what we need, the government determining who should or shouldn't be altered.
